Not going too good. The codes that are showing up indicated a bad battery and a bad ABS Control Module. For a test they replace the battery and ABS control module with new ones and the bike is still kicking the same codes and the ABS light is still blinking away. They did a continuity test on the wiring and that check out ok. The have check all the ABS sensors and motors and their pin connectors and everything is fine there. They did get Jason from Western involved to help oversee this and they have been in contact with mother Honda. The conceus from Western, Mother Honda is that it has to be in the main wiring harness and they want to replace it. I even had a talk with Mark(from D&D) and thinks they are on the right track. This as you know is going to be a big job stripping down the bike to replace the harness. They are going to have Ray at western do the work with Jason and Josh overseeing on Feb 7 and 8th. Putting the black tape over the blinking light is starting to sound pretty good right about now.

As of today the old harness is out and the new one is about 1/3 of the way back in. When I bought this bike it hand alot of aftermarket lighting in it. I never really used them and Josh would like to eliminated those lights to make sure that there is no shorts in that wiring. I'm OK with that. They are estimating it will be Friday before they get the bike back together. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Good news the bike is back together. Bad news is they what to keep it until late Tuesday or Wednesday. They just finish getting it back together late today. They fired it up and the ABS light started to flash and give the same code. They believe that it was a stored code in the computer and shut the bike off clear the computer started the bike back up and no blinking light. They put over 25 miles on the bike and no light has come on. They are closed Sunday and Monday but they want to keep it longer so they can put more miles on the bike and started in the morning when the bike has sat all night and is cold to make sure the light does not come back on. I'm ok with this , but my concern is that I have had the problem when the outside temp is under 50 degrees and next week there are no temps under 50 degrees. If everything checks out with Western on Tuesday/Wednesday I'm going to take the bike up to my condo in Heber on Wednesday and spend the night. Morning Temps will be in the mid 30's and if that doesn't kick off the light I will feel much better.

I pick up my bike from Western Honda yesterday. It is all put back together and everything is working properly. They rode it for 114 miles and the ABS light never came on after they reset the computer. I was going to take it up to Heber yesterday, but if you read the Dunlop E4 thread you will know why I didn't make it. I did put over a 100 miles on the bike and the temps did get down to 57 degrees before the tire failure. No ABS light flashing. These are all good signs, but the real test will be when it is cold under 50 degrees, but as of right now it looks like they have it fix. I don't know when I will be able to get it up north. I will keep you posted.

Well didn't get to take the bike back up north this week, but the night time temps came down last night here in Carefree. I took the wing out for a 20 mile ride last night at around 10pm with the temperature at 45 degrees. The wing's performance was outstanding and no ABS light. I look at the weather in the morning and at 5:30am the temps would be in the mid thirtys. I thought this would be a good test before I claim the bike as being fixed. I have put over 350 miles on the bike with no ABS light problem. I got up at 4:30 and rolled the bike outside and I let it stand there for a hour before my ride, so it would be nice and cold. I took off at 5:30am with a temp of 34 degrees. 5 miles from my house the f##k### light started to flash. Need less to say I was a little disappointed. Call Western Honda when they open and delivered the bad news. They were going to contact Mother Honda(they already have a case file opened on my wing) to see what the next step will be. Talk to Jason from Western this afternoon. They still have not heard back from Honda. Jason said he would like to try and change out the front and back ABS Modulator Motors with some used ones to see if that is the problem. He wants to wait and hear from Honda first before doing anything. Hoping to hear something on Tuesday.

It's not so much the cost that bothers me, it's the frustration and time that I'm spending on this problem. At some point the expence will out way the effort, but I'm not at that point now.

They tried it but the new seat is a little longer and a little deeper. The holes line up but it didn't look good. I will be ordering another one. I have CB,fog lights, rear spoiler with brake light, black luggage rack, black belly pan,Handle bar risers, volt meter already on order thur the dealer. I'm also going to rebuild the front forks with Progressive Monotubes which also are on order. I still need to order baker wings , Black Mick o pegs and the Russell day long. After that I should be done.

I was wondering when you would get tired of the hassle.. I hope you get many pleasurable miles out of this one. What level is it and what dealer did you get it from?

It is the 2017 comfort/Nav level. I bought it at Western Honda. They gave me a good discount on the new bike and they ate some of the repair cost on the old wing. Didn't give me as much on the trade as I would of like, but I'm OK with that. I could not in good conscious sell my old bike on the private market with the ABS problem. This way I have full disclosure to the person buying and they have the wherewithal to fix the bike if they want to throw the money and time at it. This is the first brand new bike I have owned since 1975 when I bought my first Goldwing. I'm having fun with it.

No way dude!! After all the research that I did trying to find out what was wrong with mine I found out a lot of Goldwings out there have a flashing ABS light for many different reasons. My old Wing was my first ABS bike. I can only recall a couple of times that it was actually put into play that I know of. You have been without ABS do you think that you need it?

Order my Russell seat today for the new wing, but holy moly my build date is June 21 and no ride in appointments before that date. That's 2 weeks to build and a week to ship it back to me putting me somewhere in the 2nd week of July. I have an old Kuryakyn back rest I can use for the time being. It doesn't look to good on the bike, but it sure will help my back. It going to be a long wait
