I recently ordered a set of the fairing visors from Bob Smith aka Attic rat. When I got my 2000 i/s last year, it did not have these visors, or the hardware to attach them. So, I went to the OEM section of Bike Bandit and looked to see what I might need to order. Under "Controls & Brakes" section, sub section "Meter Panel", it looks like I needed part #'s 1, 2, 11, &13 (6 each). I got the parts in and I can get everything to work, except for #2 (collar). If I insert the collar through the fairing panel and the rubber in the visor, I can't get the screw through all of it. If I don't use the collar, the screw will go through the rubber insert and I can get the nut flange on and tightened. My question is, did I order the right parts and if I did, how does the collar fit in all this? Or, did I order a part not needed for attaching these visors? I appreciate any and all suggestions on a solution to this situation.

Wow, that parts picture is difficult to make sense of. I bought the same visors from attic rat, but I already had the old visors in place so I didn't need new hardware. I remember that I had to remove the left and right panels and the visor bolts were allen head, grommet and a nut on the back side. Should be (6) of the number 11 screws, (6) of the number 1 grommets, and (6) of the number 13 nuts.

There are two phillips screws that go in between the allen screws that hold the bottom of the panels to the faring, four phillip screws total each side. Hope thats not too confusing?

Firefighter, not confusing at all. I have never seen a close-up view of an I/S with the visors, and by looking at the parts sheet it sure looked like the collar was needed. I am glad that you cleared that up for me. Now all I have to do is see if I can return these collars to Bike Bandit for a refund since they are not needed. Appreciate the help. Thanks      Mike in Ar
