Hey Guys, my standard won't start.  She's been hooked to a trickle charger for about four months, with a green light the whole time, but when I hit the key nothing happens.  I have 13 volts on the battery off and 10 when I turn the key on and the only load is the lights.  It's a 3 year old Yuasa.  I checked the main fuse and the ignition fuse, both are good.    I get no clicks or whirs, I get nothing.  The trickle charge light goes immediately back to green when I turn the key off.

Battery?

That would be my guess.  Could also be starter switch or loose/corroded battery connections, but easiest thing to do is take the battery to an auto store and get it load tested.

Battery voltage should be around 12.6V - 13.1V with the key turned on. 10V is way too low!

You could pull the battery out of your I/S and see what happens.  My guess is that the battery in the Standard won't start the I/S, either, but the I/S battery will start the Standard.

These AGM batteries are the real deal, by the way.  Have purchased 2 at Batteries Plus (for the 2 Valks) and they are strong!!!

So I pulled my battery out of my IS yesterday and my standard roared to life.

My big disappointment is with the Yuasa battery, I generally get many trouble free years from them but this one barely lasted 3 years.

Check out Chrome Batteries. I won't buy anything else. 30 bucks to my door last year or so. Google it.
