I rebuilt my carbs today and forgot to reinstall the heat shield that goes behind the radiator.
Whats the best way to reinstall that thing without removing the airbox.
Is it fairly easy if I remove the radiator?

Gonna be real difficult to do without cutting/trimming and/or deforming the shield.

Your best approach will be to remove the air cleaner, the rear motor hangers, and loosen and re position the carbs.

I am not sure why you took it out, as when removing the carb I do not remove the shield, just the left side motor hanger.

Good luck.

I removed it because the carbs were hanging on it, there is not a problem with removing it, the problem is forgetting to put it back..

Remove the radiator and but the plastic air dam in the one on low until it gets soft and then you can wrestle it in from the front

Jeff, that's a great idea.  Have you tried it?  I think you mean oven, right?

Next time remove the rear to motor hanger(s), instead.

I pulled the radiator, but decided to do ahead and pull the air box also, not to hard with all that removed.
All I have left to do is reinstall the radiator tomorrow...

Thanks
