Setting the tire pressures to what the manual recommends is the best way to go.

36psi front, 41 rear.

Suspension dampening turned down all the way.

World of difference in ride comfort, stability..(especially high speed)..and neutral steering characteristics.

Also, man, the NGK plugs really made a nice a difference over the stock Densos...  Engine even sounds different... This thing just keeps getting smoother...and sounds great....very unique.

Gets even smoother if you let the rear down to like 10 psi. Man it just sucks up those bumps but it is probably not the recommended thing for some reason  uglystupid2

I think you will find on the 36 tire pressure a bit low, the bike will handle ok  not the best but the tire will wear poorly. I have already had the tires at that pressure and found it led to choppy wear. 42 is to high and rough I would say about 39 or 40 would be a compromise. I have mine up at 42 right now and am going to drop it back to 39 or 40 for comfort. As for the rear I say 41 is just about right.

If there is one thing about this bike I do not like is how critical the front tire pressure is.  Man, when the front tire pressure starts to get too close to 40 or more, man does it over steer...

I took the suspension down to zero, but found it a bit squirrelly.  Was riding at about 10 clicks of the knob.

Now I am 5 clicks up from zero -- that's the sweet spot for me.
