Don't want to be a pest here, pulled the carbs all apart today hoping to see some reason for the hydro lock, but everything looks great, all the needle look good rubber tips and little springs in good shape could not find dirt or shellac anywhere floats looked good! Should I still order a new rebuild kit? And how about the fuel valve should I rebuild it or change it out? Could the fuel value cause this even if the carbs are in good order? Lots of questions here guys! But I sure appreciate all your knowledge and past experiences!! Thanks again guys! Jym...
When I fixed my friends hydro carbs. This was the problem. We knew which carb was the offender. So, I looked real careful and with the carb bank upside down you could easily see that as you pressed the float down (which would be up) it stopped making contact with the needle valve thus would be the same as the float not being there at all to stop the gas flow.
It needed a new float.
