I finally bought a used lift the 1st week in January and have not been able to use it until last weekend due to my Wing being in the shop so long. It will take a little time to get use to getting the bike on the table and putting it on the center stand. The wheel chock has a removable stop so the wheel can be moved forward a bit so when you put it on the center stand the wheel would be centered in the chock. I was afraid that I was going drive the front wheel off the front of the table, so I was very careful when I was doing this, but I did not get the front wheel very centered in the chock. It all worked OK for my first time and it was really nice not to have to crawl around on the floor. This may even encourage me to clean my wheels more often.  Smiley Wink cooldude

Sweet !!! What brand is that ? I think I'm going to have to get a lift also. That bending over doing the tires is killing my back the last few times.

That's very nice Ron. Looks way better than the Harbor Freight version.

It is a handy lift 1000. D&D replace all their lifts this year and I bought one of them with the chock and side tables. They did have another 2 they were selling. I don't know if they sold all of them already. If interested you may want to give them a call. Lift works great and since my use will be very lite it should last me a long time.

I have the 1500 Model without the side Tables and with the cutout for dropping the rear wheel.
I bought it new and have had it for about 15 years... Never a problem with it and it definitely is a back saver.  In all that time I have never taken out the front wheel stop from the Chock.
I believe that Big BF has the same ones.. So it's good to see that you will finally be able to clean yer Bike.....LOL

How often do you lube the table? Do you put your bike on the center stand when on the table? Do you use the chock at all?

I  think that I may have lubed the table once..

I put the GW on it's center stand probably 75% of the time it is on the table. I use a piece of sheet metal under the center stand to keep from denting the table. Don't ask how I came to that conclusion. Be sure to remove the sheet metal before backing the bike off.

I use the Wheel Chock every time the bike is up there. If it's on the center stand only the horizontal portion of the chock holds the tire.

I use ratchet straps with loops to the triple trees or to the front crash bars every time a bike is up there.

If I'll be taking things apart I'll add straps to the Bag guards to steady the bike.  Very little pressure on the bag guards though, they are not designed for it and you will snap the bolts..

Tom

Do you ride your bike up onto the lift? and if you do how do you balance the bike to get off of it so you can put it on the center stand. I'm some what leery to use the side stand on the extensions. I just put the new bike on the lift today, but I had to have Barb help with balancing so I could get off and put it on the center stand. I can't afford to pay Barb every time I what to put the bike on the table.  Smiley

Ron, I put the bike on the side stand and get off. I don't have the side tables so the stand will hit the main table.
Once off of the bike just put it up on the center stand as you normally would.
If you are concerned that the side table will not hold the weight, place a block of wood under it as a brace.

Hey Ron, I have no experience with the lift tables. But the way I've seen guys do it by themselves is to have the wheel chock opened slightly and ride right up on it. Then get off and tighten the chock.
