Got it on yesterday in time to ride to a pary at the X's. I think i'll like it. I do notice I get more wind 'down under' then I did with the oem shield. Thx for the help ghostrider. He gave me alot of advice over the phone. Also to my HD bud. He helped me mount it and gave me his old shield to use. did the paint myself and it actually matches better then the HD trunk I did years ago.

Looks good. I have been considering one, but can't decide if I like it enough to go for it. I missed a good deal on 2 of them about 3 years ago. Could have got them for $25 each, but didn't know what I was seeing at the time. Oh well, that old 20/20 hindsight.

Anyway, looks good on you bike.

Ride safe.

I have less then $100 in it. Got the fairing for $50 plus $28 s/h. He said it was a 96 FLH but turned out to be alot older, like from a pan head. So I had to make my own brackets to mount the shield and drilled thru the fairng. I should have looked for one with the 3 w/s holes along the top. Some minor blemishes in the clear coat but I'm sure its gonna get a beating anyway.  Undecided

That looks Great!  To keep that extra air from coming up at you, fork deflectors and Bakers will take care of that.  You can always take them off in warmer months.
Good job.... cooldude

I agree 100% with Steve on this you would be amazed how sweet it is with the Baker's both summer and winter and the folk shield are great in the cooler temps for blocking some wind. I take my fork shields off in the summer but I did install them this morning for todays ride.

Fudge...looks fantastic. I used the FLHTC version, comes with the flat apron at the bottom that covers the top of the HD forks. I just cut it off and created the same curvature you have on yours. Had to enlarge the headlight a bit as well but think all of them need that. The model I used has the two mounting studs internally on each side, one directly above the other. Two pieces of SS strap on each side is all it took to mount. I did have a bit of high speed flutter so attached a P clamp on the handlebars and attached to ther outer windshield bolt. No more movement...period. I got a cut down shaded windshield from a guy in S. Carolina that makes them, just needed to tell him if it was a three or five bolt fairing. As you can see, I also got his extended version, gives a tad more wind management coming around the outer edges.

As for wind coming under, I agree...Bakers help along with the fork deflectors, however I don't have them on in these shots.

Always like the look of your bike. Kit told me to get some Bakers. I just never cared for the looks of them. She said she like the clear ones she saw on Doubletee's bike at the CBR. So I might look into some. That will be next year tho. Need to buy a couple ton of wood pellets this week.

Nice job Fudgie  cooldude

For protection from the wind from below, take a look at a set of 'fork deflectors'.  Like you, I never cared for the look of Bakers (on my bike  Wink ).  I got mine from Big Bike Things.  They came with the deflectors made of clear Lexan, and I replaced the Lexan with the polished stainless ones sold by Matt (Truckracer from Carolina Bike & Trike).

They are not as adjustable as the Bakers, but they do keep the blast of wind from going up and over the front of the tank, and trying to yank yer helmet off.

Southern Sympathizer!  2funny Nah all us country folk use to have them in high School. We could not have guns in the back window, 4x4 trucks, and a cowboy hat without a Rebel flag.  Cheesy Kidding aside, TN was my favorite State for years till I went west of the Missouri River.

Looks great Fudgie!

I have the same fairing that's been sitting in my garage. I had planned on putting it on my first tourer then decided not to. But after seeing how good yours looks, I may put it on my standard.
