no not my valk altho I have done stuff to make it more comfy on long rides

I mean my 97 saturn coupe  It has 143k on it and going down to U of M in college park MD I got 37mpg averaging under 3k on the tach the whole way. I can never keep the valk under 3k so for curiosity sake I tried it on the first long leg of the trip.

Going home I averaged between 70 and 80(ish) and the mileage dropped to 35 a bit over 11.3 gallons for 400 miles

I paid 1300 for it when alana was going into 12th grade about 7 years ago.  She lives in manhattan now and doesnt drive so it stays in the driveway.  The 300m started pissin tranny fluid so I figured take it for some exercise

Back when made in USA was easier to find but always proud of.

"back when" we'd have never seen cars go for as long as they have with as little trouble. Remember changing out plugs, distributor, points, rotor then timing it every 10k? You couldn't believe how much better it ran. Now you tune it up at 100k whether it needs it or not and it runs just a tad better. Pretty impressive. I just bought a used '00 F150 and it's getting 12-13 mpg. I wish they would focus a little more on that part of engine development.

You gotta get lucky.

I have a 2001 Saturn and hate it.  Always some stupid thing happening that makes my wife upset, which in turn, makes me MISERABLE.  2nd windshield wiper motor needed, anti lock brakes seized up, heater core leak, rack and pinion leak, back seat squeak (it's a wagon and the fold down rear seat has been adjusted over and over again), raised brake light continually blows bulbs, brake pads and rotors are not a nice marriage so the rotors need to be replaced EVERY time it needs brake pads, and latest is that it burns a quart of oil a month.  And when it come to repairs, nothing can be fixed....the whole thing always needs to be replaced.

I have kept up with the maintenance religously and still, stooooooopid problems.  104,000 very frustrating miles.   Angry

Hmmm.  My daughter bought a 2008 Saturn about 6 weeks ago.  It has 30,000 miles on it and was supposed to be "factory reconditioned" with a 50,000 bumper to bumper warranty.  She noticed a front end vibration the second day she had it and took it to the dealer.  It has been to the dealer six more times since, and the last time she took it was a week ago.  They still have it in their shop.  We have told them we are going to pursue the lemon law if it isn't right this time.  I am beginning to think this was a bad buy.

Gary I think its time you got rid of that car if its costing you the same as your mortgage payments.

Remember if Mamma aint happy aint nobody (especially Gman) is gonna be happy

Get her another Jaguar like before Cool

The Saturn did need a valve cover gasket and a battery, but yes I got lucky with that car.

Just picked up 2000 Savana GMC for the business. Seen it on Craigs list 10 miles away from me 2500 bucks? cant be any good but i went and looked at it test drove it. Solid had a rattle he thought it was toast the cat was rattling nobody would buy it. 6 months latter 210.000 miles on the clock fixed the cat SWEET. My idea of cash for Clunkers and no tax payers hurt.
