Helped a friend move yesterday afternoon. Sat on his Victory similar to this and was very unimpressed. Nothing to it. I guess I am spoiled with my I/S. And it cost $22,000 new. He wouldn't be able to get half that now. He was living on the water at Freeport, FL and has lots of rust and even the fins on the motor are corroding.

Freedom will ultimately cost more than we care to pay but will be worth every drop of blood to those who follow and cherrish it.

I share you views. I have watched victory over the last few years and i was impressed with what i saw in print. They do not sell well out here except in a few areas, mainly up north. So my chance of getting up close to one was limited. I had a chance to ride one at Arlen Ness's store a few years back. Like you said not much there. Good power and fit and finsh was good but not worth the money they wanted. I did see one over on the coast a year ago. The data plate said 2002 but it looked like a 20 year old bike. Not sure if the owner did not keep her detailed or the bike just suffered from bad plating and paint from victory. All i know is i would not sell my valk for one.

In TN a few years ago we took the Victorys for a test ride. I took a Hammer out, wide rear tire, big engine. It was okay, but for that kind of money I wouldn't have been able to afford to add any luggage. My wife took a ride on a Ness bike as well. When we were finished with the demo she hopped off ticked. The forward controls were extended to far forward and she rode on the tank to be able to reach it. She was not impressed.

Haven't thought much about them since.

The Victory is considered the best V twin made in America (after Honda left Ohio, I guess).  The original, carbureted bagger was reputed to be able to get up and trot, so I'm guessing the newer ones will do the same  The cruisers are eyeful, but I need the versatility of a Valk Standard.

I have two sons.  One has an 07 HD Street Bob and the other an 07 Victory Jackpot.  In regard to performance and appearance, the Victory is the superior bike, as it should be for the price. One of Mr. Victory's favorite pastimes is laying waste to Harleys.

There is a Victory dealer just North of me about 15 miles.

Right now, he supposedly is hurting the HD dealer in his area in sales & maintenance work.

This guy gets a lot of traffic since he is also a John Deere & Polaris dealer.

I know he has sold bikes to 6 of our American Legion Rider guys/gals who used to ride Harley's.

All but one love them.  The odd ball, he would bitch if ya hung him with a new rope.   He is a d*ck head from the get go.   I say that because he is on wife # 5.  He has been the one to initiate the Divorce.   3 of his wifes waited on him hand and foot.   Apparently that wasn't enough.............

I put a few miles on a Kingpin Tourer, 8-ball, and a Vision.  Plenty of torque, lots of speed, and handled pretty well.  Still no comparison to the Valk.
