go google hr 45  blair holt firearm licensing and record of sale act. for us legal gun owners you are not going to like this bill because you are going to have to list all your guns on your income tax form at a cost of 50 per gun. you are going to submit to a physical and mental evaluation and if you have children in the home then they can come and inspect you home at any time the government wants to.  they are trying to get this passed without anyone knowing about it.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

While we DO need to be vigilant against all enemies, foreign and especially these days domestic, this bill is a red herring and is effectively dead for this session of congress at least...

It never garnered any co-sponsors, and was referred to a sub-committee back in February where it died...

http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h45/show

It's been introduced before, it'll be introduced again, and no one with any hope of ever being re-elected (Outside of a few whacko areas, like where the bill's originator is from (Big surprise... Chicago)) will touch the bill with a ten foot cattle prod...

So far as I know HR45 does not have enough sponsors to go anywhere at this time. That could change. On a related note I feal for our gun owner CA members. The Governator just signed a bill into law that makes people give finger prints when buying ammo. Also will do away with mail order ammo places like Cheaper That Dirt. I wont be supprised if other anti gun states follow suit or at least try......

Yep, owning a firearm in California, or TRYING to, is one huge hassle.  Basically we have let in all the politicians who do NOT want ANYONE to have a gun.   tickedoff

I don't think anyone has the resources to do more than check your criminal record and citizenship. The rest is someone's dream and others nightmeres.
