I have almost worn out the tracking function of the site I used trying to figure when my Pingel tap was going to arrive ....the AFC Shut of valve also arrived the same day....despite being ordered 2 weeks later Cheesy

now just the 1/4 NPT-5/16 hose fittings to get then time to install

I have done a search to see how and where people have fitted the shutoff but while finding lots of threads about Danmarc (same valve) Ive not seen any with pics mounted....anyone have some pics or are better then me at finding old threads (still not mastered the search function)

any info is much appreciated

Cheers

These have both been posted before.

111 Dan-Marc.  This is on Deerslayer.

Larger 121 Dan-Marc.  This is on Jade. Notice the brass T replaced the plastic OEM T which enables the solenoid to be moved further North.

cheers, its the larger 121 that I have and was curious if it needed to be verticle like one I looked at (was taller too so got the tried and true) Did you secure mount the shutoff ? I thought it may come with a mount bracket but mine was just the valve in a box with no paper work or hardware ?

I couldn't find a pic. But mine is the model like yours, the same as Mark's second pic. Mine is vertical and back behind the carb brace. It's pretty firmly in place when all hooked up, but I did put a good size zip tie around it and the brace for good measure . I don't think it matters whether you do it horizontal like Mark's or vertical like mine. It just seemed fit better for me.

I thought the instructions said don't mount vertical.  Thats why I supported it with a wire tie.  But I could be wrong.  Maybe check with Dan-marc on that.

I don't remember getting instructions, but I've had mine on for over 2 years with no issues.

You would think if there was an issue re mounting you would think the info would be on the AFC site, but its not mentioned so it should be OK

Just waiting for my brass T and fittings to arrive then its time to fit them.  Smiley

I don't see how orientation would matter Bro. It's a valve. You could mount it upside down and it would still do it's thing. Smiley

You would think - however as I said - there was an instruction sheet packed with mine which said don't mount the coil down.  That is why I went to the trouble to mount it sideways. Just sharing what they said.  I don't care what you do.

my intention was to mount it coil up if it can fit that way, but time will tell.

Just need some fresh fuel line and clamps and it will be time to fit

I also need to choose what horn to fit, one of the ones I have here or a truck horn I posted about... the twin horn is higher pitched and louder but the compact unit will not be so in your face (or do I go truck horn like the other thread I posted  Evil )

It's whatever you are comfortable with. Nobody ever said a horn was too loud if it saves your hide.  I have a Stebel and it's plenty loud for me.

well that didn't go well, I am one to try and get things the best they can be, I had new pipes and fittings..... just not the same size as std, So I need more fittings and fuel line as I don't want to drop in size. I had 8mm fuel  line when most of the factory is 10mm.... that equates to about a 30% drop in gravity flow rate if my numbers are correct. The shut off valve is enough of a restriction point so having less flow to it might limit its performance.

But with the desmog done I have a spare vacuum T so the vacuum for the fuel shutoff is now coming from 2 cylinders ....and it is still sealing well without vacuum so I will see if that improves the high end flow... will look at the shutoff again next time its apart.
