Hey guys, I walked into a local dealer here in Massachusetts a couple weeks ago and found this bike sitting on the floor waiting for me to adopt her. How could I say no?!

So I haven't taken delivery yet, due to the last 2ft snow storm we've had, but I'll be bringing her home shortly. I have also listed my 99IS for sale over on the Classifieds and am now reading that regularly to find some upgrade pieces. So this will be Valkyrie number 3 for me, and this one has some nice upgrades, but it is also missing a couple items I need. I know the Classifieds here have worked for me numerous times, but things are getting harder to source.

Maybe you guys might know where I might find some of the small adds I need?

I need a set of decent floorboards, used or new old stock, Cobras but is there anything else that is nice available? Also looking for a Heel/Toe shifter.. and lowering kit for same. I found a possible H/T on the classifieds, but are there any others that are decent besides old Rattlebars units?

I also have a note into Mark T so I guess he might be selling lowering kits these days.

I did strip some items off my first Valk before it got towed away, but not everything I needed and the H/T and Floorboards I put on the IS I'm selling and of course the one buyer I have right now can't live without those items. Smiley

All excited about this new one though.. 30K miles and immaculate condition.

A standard with lowered floorboards will not like leaning very much. I hope you have straight roads where you ride.

I know, I had them on my previous standard between them and the Kury 4050s, it was a pretty even draw to the sparks. Here in New England we don't know what a straight road is, unless it's an Interstate which are pretty much over crowded, falling apart and pretty useless until you get way out toward the NY border.

I may even live without the lowering kit.. but I really like the floorboards so I can move the feet around a bit. I've seen some listings for what appears to be new old stock, but I don't recognize the seller.

Thanks for the heads up though. That's what is so great about this board. I've had one since 01, but once I get one the way I want it, I lose track of who might be making widgets for them, or have a decent stock of spare parts etc.

I you want floorboards and a heel toe shifter all together as a kit, MC Enterprises part no #300-13 is a direct bolt on.

http://www.mcenterprisesusa.com/products/search/dsp_searchForm.cfm

This shows them on a wing, but these are the right part # for Valk. (best price)
https://www.amazon.com/MC-Enterprises-Floorboards-Shifter-300-13/dp/B001HT3RUS

I like my Cobra traditional boards and Rattlebars shifter better, but if you can't find them this will do.

I would not lower my pegs/boards either.  If you are really wanting to lower, go to lower shocks (12.5 or 12"), and/or seat (Ultimate lowboy) and/or a 55 car tire.  Your new bike already has Ultimate seats from the picture, but I cannot be sure if it is lowboy or bigboy (appx a 2" difference in seat height).  If it is a bigboy, you could likely find someone here to do a straight trade for their lowboy.

If you can find a rattlebars shifter, you can save some money off floorboards using these (ISO wings without ends, then get the correct adapter for mount to valk)

There is a way to adapt a Goldwing heel toe shifter to fit a valk, but it is somewhat involved and I don't know the process.

The ones just posted in the Classifieds aren't replacements for the footpeg mounts, they are highway pegs only floorboards.

Sent you a PM about the cost. They were asking $6500, but I made a reasonable offer and they took it. But we all know, one of these in that kind of condition... worth a lot more than 6500 to a Valk lover. But you know what? There's a limited number of us walking around. Smiley

She's a looker, for sure cooldude

I've got Cobra boards on my bikes, I like them, but don't have them lowered.

I use the H/T that someone here found, that is designed for a Wing.

You have to use a spacer to move it out enough to miss the exhaust, but maybe with that exhaust on your bike, it might fit w/o the spacer.

Check out this post.

Thanks for that.

I think I am going to try and find a Rattlebars.. and if not give that one a try and also buy a set of Cobras Floorboards "someplace" even if it cost me a kings ransom, and then try that before lowering. I used to be 6 ft tall and now I'm 5'10.5" so maybe I don't need the lowering kit.

Also, this bike has the BigBoy seat, so there's an inch there on the other end.

Thanks for the advice and complements guys! So excited about this new buy. I "think" I've got a buyer for the IS I've got up for sale too.. and I'm kinda wishing I could keep them both but.. garage space is limited. plus there is the WAF (wife acceptance factor) Smiley

So thanks everyone for the pointers to potential suppliers of some of our typical difficult to find parts. After this posts and a similar Wanted Post over in Classifieds I have connected with a few good folks who gave me a good deal on bar risers, a Rattlebars Kickshifter (what  a great guy, I met him at Inzane 1, just a really nice man) a set of Cobra Floorboards, and also a lowering kit I may or may not sure.

Now I'm searching for a chrome handlebar bezel, that looks like the OEM only chrome. If anyone might have one they want to part with, I'd be happy to make an offer.

I won't get carried away, but a set of Kury 4050s is also in the list.  Kiss I guess Kury still actually sells these new too.

I'm searching for a chrome handlebar bezel,

If by this you mean the OE aluminum top clamp, it can be polished to a near chrome appearance with a little work.  The OE control housings can also be done.  Use aluminum (not chrome) polish.

This is the best stuff ever made for all metals (including chrome).  A little goes a long way, if you don't knock it over and spill it. Liquid, not paste.

I hear this isn't bad either.  http://www.whitediamondamerica.com/metal-polish.html

The Mothers and Eagle One and other PASTES are not as fast and require a lot more work and cleanup.

Thanks for this suggestion. I'll give it a try. I have used Bombs Away in the past on my wheels and it was great but then it became hard to find. It did wonders for my wheels.

I will definitely give this a try.

Speaking of which, my new 2000 (Pic below) has the clear coated wheels, do I need to stop using aluminum polish on those?

Thanks for the links Jess

Soap and water, only! Chrome cleaner will scratch the clearcoat. A good wax will shine them up cooldude

No polish really works on clear coat, and you potentially mess up the clear coat.   As said, wax (nonabrasive) helps maintain clear coat.

That includes the wheels that are coated (lucky bastards), the fork lowers, and the master cylinders on the bars.
