Hello from Arlington!!
I am already a member on the "big board" but would like to know how to join the Texas Chapter since I live here in Arlington.  I realize this is probably a stupid question but I didn't see any link or anything to join the Texas chapter.  Thanks in advance!!

You are already a part of the Texas chapter since you live in the Republic of Texas.

Just watch this board for meeting information.  Meetings are the 2nd Thursday of the month and always involve eating and exaggeration.

Note the big ride coming up is the Gathering of the Fools in Houston - probably the last one after 20 years of fantastic bbq and fellowship.  Lots of posts about it.

Next ride is the Bacon and Bluebonnet ride to Snook on April 30th.  I'll be leading that ride.

I also am from Arlington so PM me your more exact location and I'll respond.

Whoa, the last GOTF?

It's not my call but Hotglue and Flamingo Babe have been doing this for 20 years.  It's a tremendous amount of work for them and while they have done a fantastic job and raised tons of money for the Lions Club, they appear to be ready to travel more instead.  Last year was supposed to be the last one (20th anniversary) but they decided to do one more, the BlackJack one.  Personally, I hope they have too much fun this year and do it again in 2018.  But it may be the last one.

I've only been to one GOTF... they make brisket to die for (or to ride from
South Carolina for  cooldude ) ... they always draw a great crowd and
raise some money for (kids?) too...

I'm glad to have a brisket basepoint... that's not what we do best in
South Carolina, but we have a couple of OK places for it near me.

I guess I won't make it to another GOTF, but I hope to go on one
of those Bluebonnet rides or Hill Country rides one day...

I made lunch at Snook Tx today and the flowers are all out now as well as a fog of pollen. I skipped the fried bacon and went for a cheeseburger. April 30 may be late for the flower season.
