Well, two friends and myself made it back (reluctantly) from a weeklong trip just outside Murphy North Carolina. We stayed at at a buds family cabin that was recently renovated.....really nice place and to say we had a ball is an understatement! The first day we rode from Murphy to Franklin on hwy 64 then north on hwy 28 to Almon. Hwy 28 is a nice ride! We then headed east on 17-94 back to Murphy along the Hiawassee River...very nice. Second day promised 70% chance of rain (never did though) so we loaded up the truck and went exploring. Third day we took 64 to 294 then 68 north to Tellico Plains and jumped on the Cherehola Skyway, then over to Deals Gap to do the Dragon...what a days ride! Made it back to the cabin just before it started raining. On Wednesday we rode the bikes to my uncles place between Scottsboro and Guntersville Alabama via Dayton and Pikeville Tennessee...another killer ride! Packed up the next day and rode back to Murphy through Chattanooga and Ocoee Tennessee. Friday it rained so we loaded up the truck again and rode up/ down Blood Mountain to Delonega Ga and explored some waterfalls along the way. In all we did just shy of 900 miles on the bikes, would have done more if not for the rain. There were so many roads we wanted to do but just didn't have the time.... :'( It was great trip.
Oh, and the Audiovox cruise control using only two check valves (no canister) worked well in the hills. Going up a steep grade it would only give up 2-3 mph but would quickly catch up. Here are some pics
