Hello all,

My 01 Interstate is about a 1000 miles from me.   Undecided  I am flying down to visit it in a week.  cooldude  I plan to install the Prolift adapter when there so I don't fool around with the wood adapter I made for it.

My Dad does not have larger metric sockets down there, (but does have ratchets) so I need to bring the needed sockets when I fly down.

Could someone check to see what size 6 pt socket I need to loosen the side stand bracket?

Thanks for any help!

You need a 19mm socket for the nuts, and a 17mm box wrench to hold the upper bolt head

The size of the hex wrench is 19mm.  You'll need an 8" extension.

You would be better off with this adapter. Available in versions paint or powder coat, for belly tank or not - this one not.  Doesn't use any mounts aft of the engine. It's a cantilever design.  Permanently mounted, light weight, strong - install and forget until you need to lift the bike. The nuts to attach this to the engine bottom are 3/4" - you need any 3/4" wrench.  Even a crescent wrench will work.  I have it listed on ebay where 10% of your purchase supports the Gary Sinise Foundation - remember Lt. Dan on Forrest Gump?  He supports veterans.  Or you can click on the Horseapple Ranch link in the rotating banner ad above for contact info or PM me.  Sorry bout the hijack - but it's relevent.

Thanks guys!  I have the adapter sitting there, and do appreciate the thought on your setup.  I'll take a look at it.  I do appreciate the supporting Veterans, which is one of the reasons I am considering it.

Alright Mark...thought about it, and decided yours was better.  You should hopefully see that I ordered it.   cooldude

What adapter is that shown in the pics?  I need something like that to work on the 98 base model Valkyrie I bought last week.  How do I buy one?  Am I right in thinking once it's on the bike you just roll your Sears red jack under the bike and start pumping?

Dale, that picture is an adapter made by MarkT.  You can find it right here.

Yes, you would roll your lift under and start pumping.
