It's hard to keep the speed down , especially on my favorite  road , 4 lane divided from Sedona to Cottonwood and back , beautiful scenery .  Besides  , I have the same problem just about every  where I go  ,with  keeping the speed down to a reasonable  pace , like the "speed limit"      A speeding ticket will for sure help .   The weight of the Valk  helps at making  me feel  secure , too  .
I gotta slow up some

Kidd,

That is why I installed my cruise control.  I found myself going way over the speed limit a lot of times.  coolsmiley

It is called Valkaholic. You are forever hooked.  I was in Indiana (?) and cruising and passing traffic on an eight lane interstate exchange. About two or three lanes a black Chevy Tahoe was pacing me. I saw it earlier but didn't notice it if you know what I mean. He rolled down the drivers window and caught my attention , showed me his shoulder patch. It looked like a State Trooper. He palmed down signaled me. I glanced at the speedo. 95! I nodded and waved. Dropped to 80 and continued. I guess he must have been a rider. I was not weaving , just cruising. Another lucky day.  BTW , in southern Illinois my pull behind trailer pushed me to a 110 . Fuel mileage went down to about 22 mpg.

I once had two troopers in an unmarked pull up beside me after a short, almost 100mph, blast around a stinking hog truck on the freeway.  I thought, where the hell did they come from?, and oh God, I am so screwed, and did what I always do, slowed and sat up to attention and held a smart left handed salute (with soulful sincerity).  The window rolled down, and the passenger cop gave me the two handed pointer finger sliding repeatedly down the other pointer finger, you're a naughty boy sign.  I couldn't help laughing.  The window rolled up and they launched away to some other duty.  Dodged a big award on that one.

These things do make you slow down a bit, at least for a while.

Oh I hear ya Kidd, man this thing just loves going fast...geezzz...just going through a gear or two in where the motor is in it's happy place (which is just about anywhere...a big time caveat with this bike)you are doing 80...  You are right about the mass of the bike as well.  It really smooths things out, and cross winds are not nearly as much of a problem.

When I test rode the MultiStrada DVT, I went on the highway, I was checking the mpg, really low, not worrying about the speed. The gentlemen in the car kept saying I was too fast which is absolute nonsense ; if that was true, they would never have caught me with their antique diesel Peugeot station wagon, obviously !  2funny  Evil

Finally got my new bike out for a ride this morning.  I was merging onto the highway, making sure it was clear.  After I merged, I looked at the speedo.  122 km in a 100 zone (75 mph in a 60).  This bike is quick and doesn't have any problem with acceleration.

You would notice the flash if it was active. If they don't get a clear pic of your face and license plate you won't hear from them. You are not out of the water yet, but like I said, they will offer an 8 hr. safety course,  if you accept and go the fine is reduced and no points or insurance notification, they just want your money... tickedoff

They both flashed  , that's how I know they were there , still , they could of been deactivated , they do this  instead of taking them down  after the public   demands they do away with them , they leave them up to to bring attention to some one's speed in the hopes they will slow .

So , I am hoping these flashes were just for show

The speed traps were removed from interstates in AZ but not local towns, some towns are worse than others. The cameras are all over the valley.

If you have Waze up when riding and your route plugged in, it'll announce speed cameras and red light cameras. Not that it helps for the ones you've already got caught by, but for future reference it might help. It'll also show where cops are as marked by other users. Pretty cool social media app for driving.

It's Hard, Really Really Hard

I've heard if this lasts for more than four hours, you need to seek medical attention.

Well I must admit I have been doing some training. Now not only with curbs and with maneuvers but with speed control. I go along A1A at around 30 and have to constantly look at the speedo on the highway to keep a steady speed. Its such a good problem to have, isn't it?   Grin

Personally I find the Valk' to be exactly the opposite. I sold my 'busa because we have some serious penalties for driving offenses in Australia. I was crippled riding the damn thing at the speed limit and only had a smile on my face when I could have got into serious trouble.

I have taken the Valk' to the limit twice in the speed department and once in the handling category shall we say and that really was enough for me. I really have found myself just cruising on the thing and loving it Smiley

Good point.  I have ridden a couple true sport bikes, and at low rpms, cruising speeds their kinda toyish feeling, almost boring, but man, once you seriously roll the throttle they become evil AS HELL!  They build power exponentially...insane...you do like 130mph, with the front wheel slightly off the ground and you do not even realize it!  Now the Valk just has power everywhere in the entire RPM range with just a small bump as it nears the limiter...impressive for sure, but totally controllable...  This to me makes the bike overall more enjoyable, especially with the right tires and pressures...plus I love how it doesn't get blown around in the wind...more solid ride.

Have any of you guys had the ECM reflashed yet?  I plan on it when the warranty expires.  The bikes already fast with the right oil and corn free gas..amazing to think I can get more power!  Cannot wait...
