Just curious. I do not think I have ever bottomed the forks (probably have come close). Manual says that there is 5.1" of suspension travel. When the forks do bottom, does the dust seal contact the cast part of the lower fork, or is there a portion of the chrome slide tube visible?

I would say there would be a portion of the tube visible. The springs should not let it compress to contact the seal.
