Replacing Windscreen

Ok...Got my 99 CT and will be putting on a ClearView Windscreen...but I will have to take the "old" windscreen apart. Will I be able to safely save the Rubber Windscreen gaskets?...Will they be too dried out to save?...If I can save them and reuse them, what is the 'best' way to remove them from the "old" windscreen?...I know they have to be stuck on the "old" windscreen pretty well after about 18 years of being there...!!! I was wondering if soaking the "old" windscreen in the tub after removing all the hardware will make it easy to get the rubber off...? Or using WD40...? I don't really want to buy new rubber if I absolutely don't have too...!!! Any suggestions...???
Thanks...!!!

It's not glued or anything so it should just peel right off. I had mine apart recently to put on a windshield pouch and it didn't seem to be 'stuck'.

I recently put a Clearview on a 98 Tourer and had no problem with the gaskets.

Not a problem usually getting them off. The problem some make is putting the shield back together really cranking the bolts back down. The shield may spider web around the holes if you do. Snug is good.
