RIP Capt. Lou. He invented flair and enticed big money into sports entertainment. Any old fart who could trot around with Cyndi Lauper was OK, in my book.  cooldude

Dang, I used to watch him all the time. It was the era of Bruno Samartino, the Gallager brothers etc.  Lou A was a villan we loved to hate.  But then again what is a match in raslin with no good guy or no villan?  Today, they are ALL villans in pro wresling which is why I don't watch today's wrestling.  I used to love watching Lou A getting his butt kicked after doing an illegal move that of course the referee never saw.  hahaaha. Those were the good times for me.

........1967....I was 12 years old....after growing up in a series of duplex,es and rentals....we were moving into our first...house....brand new because my mom worked her ass off and was determined to bring us up out of the depths of being....poor....to the entitlements that were enjoyed by being...middleclass.....we had one of the first color TV,s in my neighborhood because my mom worked for RCA.....but if I remember correctly "professional" wrestling ...which was on UHF....that,s Ultra High Frequency...channels for you young,ns....(Yeh...we had our own version of...Hight Tech.. cooldude ) ....in..Black and White...anyway....I remember Lou Albano fighting his arch nemisis....Bruno Sam Martino....who was a legend and a BIG Hero around my neighborhood....because he hailed from Philadelphia....

.....some great memories....sorry to hear about Lou....RIP my friend.....Im sure you,re up in heaven .....bashing some heads in with a metal folding chair....  Cool

My dad and I watched wrestling on a 13" black and white TV, channel 47 UHF, using the little round antenna on the back of the TV.  Even with the antenna there was still some snow that we had to watch through.
