I have an Interstate and just ordered the SmartSwitch. I would like to get as much light as I can without adding lights. I think I'm leaning toward non-LED lights (but open to suggestions), and wonder what size bulbs can be used to replace the stock units. Can I use (2) 130/90's? There are a lot of deer in my area and I frequently ride at night. Thanks.

After struggling with LEDs on my IS, I went back to halogen.  I like these

more than Silverstars I've used in the past.  I'm guessing they'd look even better with Bon's Smartswitch.  Another item on my wish list!

I bought these and they are 3 times brighter than stock lights. I'm happy with them.

Thanks for the input. I'm still a little in the 'dark' about what I'll do. In the sixteen years we've lived in our home, our family has hit 21 deer--all with cars/trucks. Fortunately none with bikes. (I have two sons who ride also.)

After a conversation with MarkT about his pipes (very helpful and friendly guy by the way) he suggested that (2) 130/90 bulbs would probably put out too much heat but wasn't sure if maybe someone on here has done it.

I'm considering both suggestions given so far but want to weigh all options.

Any more thoughts?

There are suitable LED's available now. I'm running one and really like it...
