Just throwing this out to the wind for y'all.

Anyone have experience with these two manufacturers of replacement alternators for the Valk?

LActrical made by California Alternator & Starter?
https://www.amazon.com/LActrical-31100-MZ0-005-31100-MZ0-015-31100MZ0005-31100MZ0015/dp/B01FH3TV0Y

and/or:

RARE Electrical, who actually has it's own website.  (Can't find a direct website for LActrical?)
http://www.rareelectrical.com/i-26894004-new-valkyrie-alternator-31100-mz0-005-31100-mz0-015-31100mz0005-31100mz0015.html

Your experiences, thoughts, and responses are appreciated.

Thanks,.. Drew, aka "BlueDrewid"   Cool cooldude

I justbought one from rare electrical and put it in last weekend. Seems to be identical to the stock alternator except this one has that black ring around it instead of green.

Same with the LAlectrical one. I've had one for 45k, so far so good.  cooldude

Hey Drew,

Can't help with your question, but thought I would say HI.

I haven't seen you in 6-7 years, how is it going?
Glad to see you are still on the Valk.
If you feel like getting some wind, take a ride up here some day, we are only 1 - 1 1/2 hours from you.
Too much traffic down there in the Land of Lincoln for me to make it a destination.   lol

Mr. Callaghan!!  Big Jim,...

Great to hear from you.  Are you and the WI crew "going to Montana soon, gonna be a dental floss tycoon?"

Yes, It would be fun to Ride with ya' --so, either up in Montana, or out here in Colorado.  The Mrs. & I, moved out to Denver a year ago.  So, come on out and Ride da' Rockies!

My mistress, Black Betty, is in the MC shop of the capable Damon, "Misfit", Kinter's cool Valk garage.  I hope to be up & running to make the trip up north.

Hope to see you soon,.... Drew    Smiley

I went thru two of the $150 china alternators before I broke down and Purchased the OEM Goldwing. The drive wheel on the china version kept working loose due to slop and soft metals.  I tightened the nut up and have both in a box in working order. Don't trust them. That was back in 2014 so they could have changed.

I would second what SillyOleBear said about MARS in a post above.  I have bought 2 alternators from him with never a problem.  He guarantees them for a year.
