I can't seem to get through to Corbin by phone, and e-mail fails half way through the writing process ??? any comments would be appreciated..... TIA ???

Just start sending them an identical question email every 4 hours (or daily) until they respond in a few weeks. The few times I tried to talk to them was unsuccessful too (years ago, never again) (I hate their seats).
Do you have the correct weather stripping? If so, it seems likely some sort of weather stripping glue can be found to lay a bead around the bag and/or lid edges and lay the stripping in on top of it. I would also think that once glued in, closing them during the drying process would be a good idea.
I believe the bags are fiberglass not Valk ABS, so choose the right glue.

I wrote a buddy who has beetle bags, and this was his reply.
Hi Gordon .... I've never posted on that site . However, if you wish to post for me, tell the guy to get two sided automotive tape ( the tape that is used to hold trim on ) . Place the tape around the lid following the groove for the rubber seal , peel off the plastic film , and then stick the rubber seal onto the tape ..... close lid ...and Bobs your uncle!
Cheers .... Steve

Double sided tape is much friendlier than goop out of a tube.
