Hi everyone,
I thought I posted the fix for the gas cap gasket in April 2016 but I guess I must have forgotten to…
This really is quite a simple fix;
I found a replacement gas cap on eBay, removed the gasket which is IDENTICAL IN EVERY WAY to the OEM gasket… Then I pressed the new gasket into the existing OEM locking gas cap… That easy no more leaking fuel or fumes
This is not an endorsement of the eBay seller… This is who I purchased from

Tips and tricks:
Remove the original OEM gasket first so you can get a feel how to remove it without ripping it… then move on to the replacement gasket removal
Carefully start on the outer edge of the gasket with some type of thin plastic implement which will prevent rips or abrasions… I wouldn't use a screwdriver the gasket is real thin on the edges… After you get it started it can be removed easily!
At this point you're going to be thinking… there's no way I'm going to be able to press the new gasket in into the small crevice for the gasket… Don't worry… After you get it started by hand just keep chasing it with your fingers it will press right into place surprisingly easily
That's it you're done… Time to smoke a cigar
