I must admit I saw a post on another board where one of the posters listed all the bikes he has owned. I thought it might be interesting to hear what others have owned over the years. I don't think this topic has been discussed for a while.

I will start. I am 56 years old and I got my first mini bike when I was 10.

1.  Heathkit Boonie Bike
2.  1966 Honda S90
3.  1964 Honda 305 Dream
4.  19?? Hodaka Super Combat Wombat
5.  1975 Suzuki GT380
6.  1977 Kawasaki KZ 750
7.  1976 Honda CB750
8.  1984 Honda V65 Magna
9.  1985 Honda V65 Sabre
10. 1984 Honda Gold Wing Aspencade
11. 1988 Honda Hurricane 1000
12. 1998 Honda Valkyrie
13. 2001 Honda Valkyrie Interstate
14. 1975 Honda CB360
15. 2013 Honda F6B
16. 2015 Honda Gold Wing.

Feel like I am forgetting a couple but this is the majority of them. Anyone else care to reminisce about previous bikes?

Not a whole bunch for me, but I have been riding a long time and they've all represented something significant through the years.

1972 Honda 250XL Enduro, circa 1975 ... first bike at age 18 or so

1978 Yamaha 650 Special , in 1978. My first real street bike...brand new. Was fun for a couple of years, but pretty small and under-powered when all my friends at the time rode 750-4 Hondas and Kawi 900's

1973 Norton 850 Commando , circa 1980. All the guys at work had Nortons & Triumphs. This was short lived.

1980 HD 80" Shovel, in 1980. My "thank Heavens I survived" period. Met my bride of 35 & counting years on this bike though...broke down in front of a cafe she was sitting in late one night, where she helped me push it to get it running. Picked her up the next AM for a 3 day ride up the coast and around Vancouver Island...had a solo seat so she did the entire ride on a small piece of foam I brought along for the rear fender. She moved in when we returned and we got engaged a few weeks later  Smiley

1978 Honda 250XL Enduro, circa 1986. Purchased to ride to work when I sold the HD to buy a house after our first daughter was born.

1984 Honda GL1200 GW Aspencade, circa 1990. Purchased to get back into riding full time after daughter number 2 was born.

1999 Valkyrie Interstate. Found my "Mistress" in 2001 with only 3000 KM on her, has been my only ride and I haven't stopped smiling since Smiley. Can't imagine ever parting with her...I'm a one bike & one woman kinda guy Cool

Cool thread.

197? Kawasaki KZ400 (used) I got my restricted driving licence at 15 in 1976 and was able to ride this bike.
1975 Honda CB750 (used) fixed the transmission and repainted it. Was a good looking and running bike.
1983 Honda GL1100 (new) I traded in the CB750 for it. Test rode a used one and was relay impressed. He said that he got two in each month and would put me on the list for next month. I bought it and forgot to ask what color it was. it turned out to be a beautiful metal flake brown.
1985 GL1200 (used) I still have it but it now needs its third alternator. Sad
1999 GL1500CF (used) I loved my GL1100 but this Valkyrie Interstate makes me giggle every time I ride it.  cooldude

In 1973, BMW made a short wheelbase model (normal wheelbase from previous years) and halfway through the production year, they lengthened the wheelbase. Called "1973½", "Stretch 5", and "Long Wheelbase" models. I still think this is the finest BMW ever built. I'd love another one. Maybe when the legs start to go.

2funny I hadn't thought of it that way. But you are right. If he had been riding a Honda 750 he'd have went on to the next town, picked up a skank at the bar and been miserable the rest of his life. (Just messing with you Mike)  cooldude

Not as impressive or as long riding as others.

Back in my early teens, family had a used Honda Trail, I think 50cc. Rode friends dirt bikes.

After the kids grew up, I wanted to get into riding, in-laws rode, thought it would be nice to get out all together.
07' - 82' Honda CM250 Custom (pre-Rebel)
08' - 84' Honda CM400T Custom
08' - 98' Honda ACE Tourer VT1100T - a baby Valkyrie  cooldude
09' - 82' Goldwing GL1100 Interstate
09' - 99' Valkyrie IS bought, picked up in Vegas in April 10' - wrote it off in Oct 10'.  Cry
13' - 88' Goldwing GL1500
16' - 99' Valkyrie IS green/silver
16' - 99' Valkyrie IS black/silver

I have no intention of ever selling it, till I can no longer, or give up, ridding. Just trying to personalize it, to make riding nicer (was spoiled on the GWs).

Many memories, of places and good people, and hope to continue that to my old age.

Mike, as already stated, a real keeper.  Cool

First bike was a 1975 Honda 500 Twin. My wife bought it for me for our first anniversary. I had it a couple years but sold it with the intent of getting a bigger bike.
We started having kids and that bigger bike dream didn't happen for over 20yrs.

But in 2001, I jumped from my CB500T 20 yrs earlier to my 2001 Valkyrie Interstate. After that was totaled in 2007,
my next bike was my used 1999 Interstate.

After that was totaled after leaving Inzane in 2015, I decided Valks were unlucky for me and bought my brand new 2013 F6B a month later.
So far so good on keeping the tires on the ground.

In essence, yes I guess that is true. Her folks sure weren't quite sure what to make of me when I showed up the next morning at her place and she never went back home after though ... Shocked
1980 was the first year that specific model came without a kickstart. Starter hub would separate so if not in a sweet spot when stopped, you had to bump it over in order to start again. She helped push that thing a lot more times for a year or two until I broke down and had the hub replaced.

former:

1970s P.O.S. suzuki 100cc something or another (age 14 or so)
1984 honda 700cc magna  (wish I still kept it sold for 1500 in 1998 still worth today 1500)

atv: 2000 Arctic Cat 500cc auto 4wd
       2003 Polaris 329cc magnum 4wd

current:

2008 Kymco people S250 scooter
1997 Honda 750cc magna (bought for my kid age 16 is getting his class M cycle license next weekend)
2001 Honda Valkyrie Interstate

atv:  2008 Can Am Outlander 500cc MAX 2-up (red)
2008 Can Am Outlander 800cc MAX 2-up (green)

3 fishing boats, 2 kayaks, and a coleman ram-x scanoe (square back for motor and wider/more stable)

Been thinking of a used 1800 Goldwing, but everytime I look at the Valk I/S so far I cannot part ways with the looks of that bike vs. a Wing.   I hate to part ways with any of my toys if not giving me any issues.

Don't remember the year of the H/D but while stationed in San Diego buddy had a older Harley with a side shift that I rode more than he did. Race bike in Japan was a Yamaha Y A-5 and it had a pressed steel frame. Also had access to a 238 Kawasaki moto cross bike in Japan.  1973 C B 500/4 here in the states I had custom painted. In Texas I had an A M F H/D that I kept maybe a month and got 1984? Yamaha Virago 920. The used bike shop I bought the H/D from Told me I would Not like the Harley!  2funny Got hold of a European 250CC? single dirt bike that you needed to work on 2 or 3 days to ride an hour and a half or maybe 2 hours.  uglystupid2 Then I got MY 1999 Honda Valkyrie interstate!  cooldude I will Say that the a m f Harley's were NOT amongst anybody's good ideas! And to think had I NOT thrown a leg over that Cushman when I was 10 or 11 I would have Never KNOWN the Pure Joy of the wind. One of the few times I defied my parents.  Roll Eyes RID SAFE. fergitted that 90CC three wheel Honda thing hat got outlawed. The one where the tires ARE the suspension!  2funny

I can't remember years but I've owned most all breeds, and even 2 of some. Started on dirt bikes in the mid 60s on Yamahas and Bultacos, and then moved to street bikes. 2-650 Yamaha lard haulers, 750 Honda, Kaws- 1-500, 1-750, 2-900s. 2-Goldthings,  1-Interstate, several Harleys - Electra glides Ultras, Street Glide, 1-Springer I still have, 2 -Valkyries, one of which I still have, Jade & black called Snot. Prolly missed some but that's close. I love older bikes, even if neglected. Then I get to rebuild them. Both my Springer and current Valk were just that. Now the both shine like a diamond in a goats ass.
