I have a UK Valk and they run different main jets and main needle, I am in the process of opening up the flow and in turn opening up the fuel flow a little but at a budget after buying some new shocks and fork springs (on the freight atm)

I am hoping someone is able to take a picture square on of the main needle and measure the shank at the top and just above the lower point and Over all length, then I can scale the pic and overlay it on the UK sized needle and try to make some sense on the wide difference between the jet sizes..... before going down the road of ordering jets.

I have always set the main jets by what revs it freely revs too....and currently it hits the limiter it 1st, 2nd and third without hesitation with just lifting the needle 1 washer, 2 was too much and I was just going to put bigger idle jets in but I want to think about this some more before attacking the jets when I inspect the float valves and look at the float height as they are leaking fuel ...... if I leave the key on so the shutoff valve is open it will eventually start to flood, so carbs are coming out again, but that's no major job with the desmog done Smiley

What ID number is stamped on your needles?
Have only found a couple of different numbers
First model Valk had J6KG,  after that they were  J6KJ for American Bikes.
Export bikes had J6KB except for Swiss bikes which had J6KF.
The KG's are about .0005" thinner than the KB's

Yours should have the J6KB needles.
The KB and KF ran 78 mains and 35

Do not have info on Asian bikes so cannot say if there are other needles.

Ping me an email address and I can send you some info on needle measurements I have taken
Cheers Steve
