Woke up early and decided to go for a ride. Headed up the I-17 to the Prescott turn off and then down to the City Square/ Whiskey Row for Breakfast at St Michaels. Upon arriving at the Square there were no parking places available. It appears that they were having the Prescott Fine Arts and Wine Festival this weekend. Well, I was not going to stick around for the crowds, so I decided to eat at the Waffles and More which is next to the shell station we always fill up at before heading to Skull Valley. I have eaten there once before about 5 years ago and I remember it was very busy and the food was good. Well the place was very busy again today, but the food was just OK. I don’t know if I hit them on an off day today or I hit them on a good day 5 years ago.

I ate breakfast and headed down to Skull Valley to get a picture of the new bike in front of the old gas station. I snapped a few pictures and rode over to Yarnell.

Who would have guessed it but the traffic was stopped at the edge of town for the Yarnell Daze 2017 parade. They had the far 2 west lanes closed for the parade and the far east lane closed for parking which left the only 1 lane for traffic to move thru town. They set up a pilot car system to get north and south traffic thru the town, so I had to wait about 15 mins at the far north of town. When it was my turn to go thru the parade had started, so I got to motor pass and see the whole parade. It was a good size parade with a lot of Classic and Antique vehicles. It was a lot of fun, so I didn’t mind giving up the 15 mins of waiting.
Headed down the hill and back home. No wind before breakfast, but a lot of wind after breakfast. Good thing that I had my belly pan installed for those crosswinds and improving my MPG.

Temps were great all morning between 65 and 77. After coming down the hill from Yarnell the temps climbed to 91. I was home by noon and put in 222 miles. Another great day of riding.
