It's finally here time to roll toward Robbinsville, North Carolina for " The Fall Color Ride " . Weather looks better now than it has in the last several days.I talked to Miss Reba last night and even with all the weather watcher's backing out we still have a sell out at her motel and I've got few e-mails from folks staying down the road at the San Ran Motel as well. We may get this ride off with dry roads after-all.Temps are coolin' down as I type this but I think the rain is gone for now . Y'all ride safe and tonight at the fire-pit I'll go over several routes and let you folks make the call where we ride to tomorrow....Ride Safe in twisties watch out for the leaves in the turns and ....Bring It...LET'S RIDE  Smiley

Great ride Joe!
I appreciate you and Normandog thinking about the rest of us when it came to ride the Dragon in the water and leaves. You've led some of the best rides I've been on. The group was great, the weather was crappy and everything stayed wet except for the faucets in the hotel. . . .
It was good to see everyone again, Razor (good luck on your bridge project), Kendal and Nikki, you, Duffy, Big Al and Flask (and wife). I plan on meeting up with Flask and his wife on my next trip to Crystal River, FL.
Got home safe Saturday evening after fighting some wind on I575 south. Hard to believe the gusts would move the Valk but they did.
See everyone soon.

What an experience!!!!!

Riding across the Cheohala Skyway at 3:30.  When we started out from Telico Plains it was overcast and a little chilly.  As we began to climb the mountains it got colder and colder.  I thought the grass and leaves looked a little shiney and kind of white.  By the time we reached 4300 feet it was 30 degrees, all of the plant life was completely covered with snow, there was almost zero visability, my windshield was completely iced over, and when I leaned around it to try to see the road there was Duffy in front of me with his camera in his hand taking pictures behind him. Shocked

I know it would have been crazy and dangerous but I wish we would have pulled over and taken a picture at one of the "overlooks".

btw:  it official....I'm calling the Gerbing man tomorrow cooldude

Thanks to everyone for a great time...
