Has anyone installed a rider backrest on their 1800C?  If so, how do you like it?  Was it a drop-in install?  Which one did you get?

If you use the Corbin seat, it has a spot to put their backrest for both driver and passenger. It's a bit more than drop in for the driver, as the seat must be off to tighten the single screw that secures it, but for the passenger it's pretty close to drop in and tighten the screw that secures it.

If you use the OEM seat, and the OEM backrest, it isn't drop in, as there are some securing brackets that must be installed before the actual backrest is installed. I don't know how difficult it'd be, but it doesn't look that bad.

Yeah, I don't want the expense of a Corbin seat.  I was looking at this one:

I put in an Utopia backrest and I love it.  $225 for it.   It is pretty easy to put on, but it does requires you to take the rear seat cover off to bolt on the bracket.  Not a big problem if you know someone with an upholstery stapler or you have an upholsterer around that can staple the cover back on.

I don't use backrests but 2 came with my used Corbin. But most importantly I'm happy to see that another Valk owner RIDES his bike rather than driving it. Riders seat, riders pegs, riders backrest, there are no drivers on motorcycles... 2funny

I debated whether to use "rider" or "driver".  You can think of the two people on the bike as the rider and passenger or the driver and rider.  I don't really mind if someone uses driver instead of rider, after all driver implies that you are actively controlling the bike.
