Hey guys, my headlight just quit working and I don't know what happened.  Headlight was working fine, I replaced my taillight and my headlight stopped working.  Coincidence I assume.  I've checked and replaced the fuse and I've checked and switched the headlight with my spare one.  Odd thing (to me) is that the LED headlight barely glows and flickers, the incandescent one doesn't light at all.

Suggestions please; I have no idea where to go from here.

All the headlight issues I've had relate back to the starter button.

My only concerns here are I replaced the contents of the switch housing about two years ago so the switch is relatively new.  Also the bike starts and runs fine and the light was working before I pulled the taillight assembly off.

Re-check your ground connections.

Check what you did to the tail light, I would remove tail lite again, take apart (what ever you did) and see if your head light comes back.    No coincidence.

Agree with Firefighter.   If the taillight replacement led to the headlight failure, that's where to start.  Uninstall and then install again - maybe something shorted out (wire pinched, etc) during the install.

So, first I removed the headlight housing and checked everything, looked OK, I left the plug hanging with a bulb in it.  Pulled the side cover and checked all of my plugs and grounds.
Next I replaced the fuse from my package of new ones instead of the spare; VIOLA, let there be light!
Put it all back together hit the key to test and there was darkness.  What the F...!
Pulled the light fixture out of the bucket, hit the key ... and light.
Hmmm.
A good look inside the bucket, at the plug and fixture, finds the wires coming out of the plug were bent around it instead of sticking straight out.  I spent about 10 minutes routing all of the wires in the bucket into a nice donut shape to remove any stress off of the wires, carefully mounted the fixture back into the bucket and there be light.

My current theory, which may need editing if the light goes out again, is that I was putting too much stress on the wires when forcing it in so I could get the screws in.

Today she goes for inspection and registration.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
