I check the board every couple of weeks to see if any of the elders are posting! Looks like the board is dying a slow death! :-(

I'm still riding a bunch!

Hope everything is as well as it can be for Rita and yourself.

Take care... Red

Hi Red,  Thanks for the BD wishes.

you really feel the board is dying?  Cry  I don't think it's dying, it goes up & down just like it always has.   right now there's a few on the way to InZane & on vacations, so this is a low time.  it is a little different, but everything has to re-invent itself to continue.
I love the group is still going strong and the "new" ones love the Valk as much as we "old" ones did [still do] when we got ours many of moons ago.    cooldude  the great part about this group is everyone is just as friendly towards each other as we were. [still are]  plus long friendships that I'm truly thankful for.
we don't ride very much, but when we do still love it.  Smiley    maybe before the end of the yr we'll meet up again.
take care, deb   Kiss

Yes Red, trying to maintain status quo....whatever that happens to be. Don't know about the rest but I kinda miss the "breakfast club" thing we had going for a while back a few years. I agree, the board seems to be dying although there still is some group activity. Times change I guess, the young guns are taking over. More power to them.  cooldude

Do you recall the retired sheriff's name, was from the Brooksville area. He and his wife used to take part in a lot of our activities. A lot of that bunch don't show up any more.

Is he the one with the blue and white interstate?  if so he still makes some of the rides.

Bill, no...different guy. Last time I saw him he had a new Wing, that was a few years back so no telling what he rides now....or if he still rides.

Are you thinking about Bill & Sharon? They were with me a lot when I rode with the group.  We've ridden together for almost 35 yrs.  He still rides a Wing.

The only other Deputy I can think of was Ed and his wife Kim.  He works for Hernando County but he's not retired.

Yes, I also miss the breakfast meetings at Luigi's in Brooksville. It's been a few months since I've been there. Usually good food and a nice group of riders showed up.

I went to riding Harley's full time a few years ago.  I still remember Debbie giving me a hard time about me riding my mini bike to a Q. I was on one of my Sportsters! lol... It did look small next to all the Valks. Still trying to do my 18-30,000 miles every year!

Be Safe..... Red (turned grey)

OK, now I'm confused....forgot about there being more than one couple where he was a LEO. I think it was Bill and Sharon, he was retired at the time our group was active and believe he was local. Been too many years and too many more gray hairs, which by the way reminds me....I thought redheads didn't turn gray for some reason. Apparently not true.  Wink

Yep, that was Bill and Sharon I do believe that you were referring to John.  And hey Red.  My hair isn't dark anymore either and there is less of it.  I am reminded of a fellow ham radio operator who was trying to describe himself to someone that he was going to meet up with the following day.  He said " I will be the guy with the premature gray hair". We need to try the breakfast club again. There is Luigi's Brooksville,  Sunrise eatery in Zephyrhills, or some thing closer for you John, Cracker barrel in Lakeland. I am open to suggestions.

Bill, great idea....but not until around October. Right now it's too darn hot and humid to make it an enjoyable ride. Luigi's was OK, it was just the hour we met was a problem. The group always wanted to meet around 9:30am, that meant for me I was riding through rush hour traffic, often leaving the house shortly after 7:00. Often took me longer to get to/through Clermont than the rest of the trip. Nice ride through the country once west of there. With Luigis, having it later was a problem because they cut off breakfast at 10:00 as I recall. I'd still like to start it back up, maybe Lakeland's Cracker Barrel or once in a while at a Bob Evans at 27 & I-4...believe it's a Bob Evans on the south side of the intersection. At least we could get TJ's butt out of bed for that one.  Grin
