The waters have receded and the drought is no longer hanging onto our route, so want to reschedule the ride to Kendall's.  The poll will tell me which is the best date for the most folks.

The 8th would probably give the "InZaners" enough time to get home and regroup.  cooldude

Yup.

The date will be July 8th.

Meetup at 8:00am - McDonald's at I35 and 380 in Denton.  KSU at 8:30am with full tanks.  Straight up I-35 to Oklahoma 77 and on to the restaurant.

Return trip through Ada and Tishomingo on the way to Carpenter's Bluff one lane bridge, then down 75 to the metromess.

Bump for a good upcoming ride.

Unfortunately, my wife's HS reunion will have me heading south that day. If they have 2/3 of the living class show up, it should get it up to around 20.

I think Speedo is coming along as well.  Table for 4.

Great ride today.

Prophetic decision by Rainmaker to ride south from Tishamingo instead of continuing to the bridge at Carpenter's Bluff, as a serious storm went through that area about the time we would have been there.

Oh yeah:

Best

Chicken

Fried

Steak

ever.

Seriously.  Ever.

Started about 8:30am in Denton and headed up 35, arriving at the restaurant around 11am.  The parking lot was pretty full by this time but we were seated immediately.  A long way to go for a chicken fried steak, but it was incredible.  Best ever - crispy, seasoned just right with delicious green beans and potatoes.  Then, as desert, the best cinnamon roll ever, warm and sweet.   Well worth riding 400 miles for this meal.

Here's the original sized steak.  This is a medium.

And a couple of group photos outside

It was a good trip.

Awesome day.

I turned south at Custer, heading towards McKinney I keep seeing it get darker and more lightning.  As I was approaching 121 it really looked like I was going to get rained on before getting home.  Luckily I barely avoided a frog-strangler as Allen had flooded streets and my trashcan was down the road a ways, all I rode through was a lot of road spray from the cages.

Next time we should reverse the route and get those fried-pies I heard about for desert.

 Definitely a good ride. cooldude
The food was 'over-the-top' good!  Although, I ate too much..  But HEY!  That's what it's all about. Wink
As the weather began closing in, Valkpilot suggested a change in the planned route toward home.  Great idea.  And since it was developing East of the Metro but possibly moving SSW it was unanimously voted to go South on 377 rather than continue to 75.
I believe I was first to arrive home.  Safe and dry.  Valkpilot probably second.  Since Rainmaker veered off of US377 to the west early on, not sure how long took him to get home but the biggest concerns were Speedo and Chuck.  Both had to ride into the storm. Undecided
I see from the above post Chuck was OK.
And yes.  We should have stopped and got some fried pies (to take home) on the way up to Noble, Okla.

Like Valkpilot said, 'that could be another trip'.
