Is there a stock fuel filter for the 2000 Valk interstate and if so where is it located and how is it replaced. I tried to order the service manual but they were out of stock.
Thanks,

Doc,

No need to purchase the manual.  Right click this link and select Save As...

As for the fuel filter, the Valks do not have a fuel filter other than the screen in the tank on the petcock.  You can add one but you REALLY have to be careful what one you add.  Flow through the filter is a HUGE deal.  Get the wrong one, and your bike will starve at higher speeds/rpms.

Heck, mine couldn't get fuel to some cylinders at idle when I tried a filter. Biggest problem was when the fuel level in the tank was less than 1/3 full. Removed it and all is well. My problem was likely aggravated by having both a fuel filter and an electric fuel valve in line. I kept the fuel valve.

I bought the Pingle fuel filter and never had a problem its sintered bronze and chrome on the outside easy to clean and put back. The downside being sintered bronze its not the lowest micron rating but it does provide some filtration.

Wouldn't the 1500 Wing fuel filter flow enough?

Probably not...  We've got 6 carbs to feed, the wing only has 2  Wink

I purchased and installed a Pingel and then swapped for a Golan filter from J & P Cyles. Can't recall exactly which model right now. But it flows real well, and filters down to 10 microns. Not cheap, but a quality filter. Search J&P site, get the one that fits the fuel line diameter. I've had mine in for 4 years.

I'm also running Golan filters on two Valks. No starving for fuel even with the tank almost empty. As noted, they aren't cheap but they work and could prevent hydrolock, (speaking of not cheap).

Yep, I think a filter is the best addition for possible prevention of the dreaded fuel-lock.. I just use a plain ole 3/8" unit thats available everywhere which I 'force-fit' into the fuel line and have had no problems.. The standard line is slightly larger than 5/16", its about 8mm[ I think]..
