She was in CT when I last heard from her.  Instead of continuing her trip to Inzane, she was thinking of going back home.   Sad

Not a good way to start her trip.

I talked with her and the trike is going to Framingham.  Chris actually found Karen waiting for AAA to show up.

So it looks like her trip is a no-go.   The talk is sick Sad

Yeah I found her on 84 east at mile marker 90. AAA hooked her to the repair shop in Framingham and her friend June picked her up there and brought her home. All is good

Many thanks to Rich for the text alerting me she was stuck in CT

It's too bad, she has planning on this trip for a long time and was going to see a lot of friends.  I'm not sure what Rocket Moto did to her bike but it sounds like they didn't fix what she brought it for (and after keeping it for 4-5 months).   Angry tickedoff

Yes, Karen is OK, all things considered. Here's the rest of the story, after the bad clutch after the 6 month wait, the breakdown on the road, and the eventual arrival at home safe and sound, thanks to Valk and other friends. Decided to go on a group ride yesterday, down to Rhode Island for BarBQue. Beautiful day, 11 bikes, I was in the 3rd spot. We came to a left turn and took it. I had seen a truck approaching as we turned in front of it, and seen it signal not taking a right turn. Was sure we could proceed, but the bikes in front of me stopped, probably not having seen the signal on the truck. Saw them at the last minute, screamed, hit the brakes, skidded to a stop avoiding the brand new Harley in front of me. Unfortunately there was too much momentum for me to keep the scooter upright; they said it was in slow motion like the tricycle on Laugh In. The hip hit, the arm and shoulder hit, and the helmet hit the pavement. Much consternation, as I slowly made my way onto my knees, grabbed the scooter & pulled myself up. A couple of gentlemen stood the scooter up, and I felt OK! Not bad, for the first get-off at 74... Later on the same ride, the group turned left while I went straight. Got back into place, and was seriously questioning my  capabilities to continue riding. When we stopped for lunch, I asked if anyone could tell me how I had managed to miss the left turn. Several replied that there had been no signal given; there was an issue with CB communications. I could have taken someone out on that one... But my confidence is no longer shaken, I'm simply not psychic... a little sore today, probably a little more tomorrow. Can't wait to see what the rest of the summer has to offer! I bounce better that I thought I would...

Glad to hear you bounced back Karen. Not having a crash for operating for so long is a testament to your ability.

Karen so happy to her that it was mostly pride that took the hit. I refuse to believe this is your first "get-off" in 74 years.
In the words of Yukon Cornelius, "why didn't I tell you Bumbles bounce."
Seriously, glad you are ok. And not to worry about your confidence, I'll ride beside you anytime.

Funny you should mention that, Paul, because I remembered that shortly after Claire passed, I went to Allston to get a much needed haircut. On the way home, in a back street shortcut, I saw a wire hanging across the road at the last minute, skidded, managed to stop, and fell over the same way, just on my right side. Got up, called 911, fire truck came, kept a couple of cars from hitting it. So this was my official second get off... I hope they don't keep happening every couple of years... little sore in the shoulders and back & sides, not bad, just from trying to hold the scooter up... Thanks for all your kind words and wishes!
