My first 1500 Valkyrie was an Interstate and has a fixed windshield the 1800 started out with no windshield and I tried two windshields on it and ended with no windshield.  The current two 1500s have no windshield. I find I am happy this way, I will note here I am a full face Schuberth only rider.  I just finished an awesome two week bike vacation in Colorado and I took a windshield but never used it. Hit speeds of 115 as well on the trip. I was with one full wing two other 1500s and one HD.  Anyone else nix the windshield?

I did for 6 mo. last year, plus the bags to put her in a bike show. 98, black and chrome. I think she is beautiful naked. But I will never do that again. Just me.

Damn that's still a beautiful machine, especially being almost 15 years since it was last made. I do love my Valk, but I often wish they'd have kept the classic cruiser styling and just updated it a little.

As for with/without a shield, this is the first bike I've owned that I have no desire to put a shield on. I do need ear plugs for the noise, but the wind blast is easily tolerable running nekkit.

I have tried to cobble together a windshield set up to my liking a few times and keep coming back to the same conclusion. The clean air I get without a windshield is so much nicer than anything I get with a windshield. No more wasted money for me, just gonna run naked.

I feel it is easier because I run only full face and I have found my helmet! I have the Schuberth S2 and I love it! So on the COLORADO TRIP a simple wet water wipe at stops of the helmet shield takes seconds and I was not looking through a windshield to see all those fourteeners.  Actually easier than cleaning a full shield.

My valk had the Honda tall windshield on it when I bought it, it was the only item I immediately removed. It just ruins the look of the bike for myself.

Speaking of, I do have a Honda windshield for sale  cooldude.
