I had my 97 valk for a few months now, but due to weather not much riding, but when I do ride I keep blowing the 10 amp headlight fuse,  I opened the light housing and wiggled all kinds of wires but all seems good,  when out riding I return with fuse blown,   I need a elect. diagram and any advise any one can give,   TIA.      Sad  ps. aux. lights on separate circuit , they stay on unless I shut them off.

I can't send a schematic, but I will tell you that the fuse pwr. runs out of the shell up the right bar to the starter switch.back thru the shell to the dimmer switch then back down to the H.lamp.There is also wire that runs from the fuse to the shell. You have more jiggling to do Grin.
I think we've all seen starter switches that caused a fail to light but I've never seen one pop a fuse.

On my interstate, the hi/lo beam switch can be positioned kind of in the middle and within a few minutes the headlight fuse will blow......seems both hi and lo beams are on at the same time. HYappens especially when wearing thick gloves......

How about a 2 high powered after market (off road) head light bulb? Not likely, but just a thought.

My 98 tourer would often blow the headlight fuse, high or low beam made no difference. I pulled the fuse and put an ammeter in and the meter showed well under 10 amps I couldn't wiggle, jiggle or do anything to determine the problem, gave up and ran the headlight wire from the starter switch to a single relay.... No more blown fuses.

Can we say Smart Switch? Don't know how much longer, if at all, BonS will have them available.
