Hey all,

I know trunks have been discussed here before, but does anyone have any experience with these (expen$ive) Corbin trunks? http://corbin.com/harley/baggers/hdbox1h.shtml

I've read too many complaints about cheaper aftermarket options falling apart after a season or two.

Any and all input and opinions welcome!  cooldude

Thanks!

I like your Givi trunk (and the carrier it is mounted to)... unless you need your junk
all the time, you can get rid of the Givi in just a few minutes, and put it back on
for a trip.

The Corbin bags on my 1800 Valkyrie are very good quality, if you like the way it
looks, the Corbin in your picture is probably a pretty good trunk.

Thanks for your input, Mike.  GIVI makes great, strong and waterproof trunks... but the problem I have with the GIVI on my Valkyrie is two-fold... while my GIVI trunk looked just fine on my utilitarian V-STROM 1000, it doesn't match the look of my Valkyrie.

The other issue is a functional one in that in order to open it I have to actually remove it from the bike as the opening of the lid interferes with the stock backrest.  Yes, I 'could' remove the backrest and go with a GIVI trunk pad, which would be functional... but it still wouldn't look like it belongs on the bike.

That's why mine's "off" except when I have to have it. Since I
don't care that it is ugly, I made an extender for my carrier so
that I can open the lid while the passenger seat and backrest is on.

I think Corbin is good stuff. So is an Interstate trunk. Make sure you
can open your saddlebag lids whatever you get...

There have been decent I/S trunks for sale in our classifieds fer a bit-O K-a lot less coin.  Roll Eyes My Brother-da prez-has a soft bag-don't know the make-that he uses on road trips. He has the Ultimate seats with a back rest for his Wife and the bag and back rest seem very compatible. Having followed him a few miles might say I has first hand knowledge.  2funny I'll see if I can git holt of him and see if he rekemembers what make it are.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

Heck, I wish I still have my IS trunk here in Canada. I gave it to a rider in Seattle, along with the rest of my accumulated items. The idea was he would see what he didn't want to keep, and send some $ my way to pay for it.

Had the IS fender rails needing fixing (1 broken stud), trunk mount, and trunk, along with the Polk speakers and a marine radio with a remote display for the handle bars.

Seattle isn't far, and I can still get ahold of the guy. Black/red from a 99'.

I have the 46 Givi trunk and took the factory backrest off leaving the factory metal storage rack plate and put the GIVI backrest on and the trunk works great--I have a blue and white valkyrie and the optional blue lid from GIVI has perfect paint match--the case is rounded/bulbous that matches the Valkyrie lines perfectly--I spent the money for the optional brake light but it never seemed to work and run a "PRIORTY PLUS" for flashing brake/tail light/turn signals when the brakes are applied--in my lifestyle the side bags are bulky and prone to being scrathed up and I ride day trips mostly--I have some soft bags  and a large waterproof canoe bag that I can strap on prn
