I have a Pingel Fuel Valve 1311-CH.  After [too] much consideration, I thought about a vacuum version or 1311-CHV.  After looking the underbelly of my GL1500CT (Tourer) gas tank, it would seem the valve would be more easily accessed if the off/Res/on valve was facing towards the right side of the bike versus having to reach all the way under the bike to turn on, off, or Res.

Other than the obvious "hey stupid, you need your right hand for the throttle", does anyone see an issue?

My key consideration is access to the valve.

I have no problem reaching the valves on the 1311 pingles on my two Valkyries.  No more vacuum for me

Me either. Since the petcock is in the middle anyway, what are you gaining by trying to access it from the right?

No on the Dan Mark. Not that I have anything against the product, just found turning it off myself is working for me.

I have one, along with an inline external filter. Only reason for the filter is because I lengthened the pickup tube on the Pingel to match the OEM, that way I have the same amount of reserve. With the longer pickup tube, the Pingel filter that slips over it no longer fit so had to add the inline unit. I've never had the first trouble with starvation, my fuel line runs downhill from the petcock all the way to the T. Been on there for years.  cooldude

Successfully installed a Pingle 1311-CHV.  cooldude

After installation I test drove and was very pleased.  This morning, I noticed a pool of fresh fuel on top of my transmission directly below the new fuel valve, not good (enter sinking feeling here).  Although I purchased new hose clamps for both the #6 vacuum line and fuel hose, I believe the fuel line clamp is not tight enough.  The fuel barb on the Pingel petcock is 5/16".  I'm using a I series spring hose clamp only because I could not find a screw band type clamps small enough for our fuel lines as recommended here on the forum...

Any suggestions?

Put a small wire tie on it.

Great temporary solution Skinhead . . . thanks  coolsmiley

Anyone know fuel line and vacuum hose outside diameters (e.g., O.D.)?

I added a small inline filter and when I did I added a very small section of the hose that fits on the pingel. Had to really push it on the filter.

I have the Pingel with an in-line fuel filter too. No problem reaching the valve with the left hand and had to use the reserve position once while moving. No vacuum either.

If you install the Pingel without the Vacuum, what to you use to plug the vacuum fitting on the #6 cylinder?

The same vacuum caps you'd find on any of the other carbs with no vacuum connections. Check the Honda parts fiche or Redeye sells them.
