Well my Russell seat arrived yesterday, a week earlier than expected. There are a few differences with this seat than my old one. The back rest adjustment has the aluminum wedge on the top adjustment, but not on the bottom adjustment like my old Russell. It has a screw and locking ring on the bottom adjustment. I think I’m going to like this better, but we will have to wait and see. The filler that attaches to the back of the seat is only attached with about 1/3 of the material that I remember my old seat had. I guess it doesn’t really matter once the seat is installed.

I took the bike out for a 50 mile ride around 6 pm. Man was it hot!! The new seat sits me back a little further than my old Russell, but I really like it. It gives me more room in the cockpit and was very comfortable. The seat feels great and I don’t even have it broke in yet. The Mic O Pegs needed to be adjusted even before I installed the new seat, but once the new seat went on they were in the perfect position. No adjustment needed and that was one less job I had to do.

I’m looking forward to putting some 400 to 500 miles days on this seat.

Well John you can solve that by just buying a Goldwing.  Wink

Hey Hubcapsc
This is my 3rd Russell seat on 3 different bikes. The pattern you have is what I had on my 1st Russell and i like it a lot.  The last two I went with the Half Moon pattern, because in has less stitching. According to Russell this pattern will be more water resistant because of the less stitching, but I don't know if that is true or not. I have become very fond of the half moon pattern over the years.

Donna did give me permission, but finances dictate that it wont happen until next spring. Dave, If I do buy one it wont be going to Inzane on a trailer next year.

With Dave having a u-joint go out at last years Inzane and wheel bearings at this years Inzane we were thinking maybe we would consider a trailer for next year.  118 degrees in Las Vegas would have no influence (well maybe a little) on the decision.

Not to get distracted, but that's a good looking seat Ron. I hope you have many safe and comfortable miles.

John, when you get a Goldwing you can pull a trailer to carry all the tools we'll need for mine and Dave's bikes.

Good call George, he could put a lift in the trailer as well. We could start a list of spare parts. Tires, final drive, alternator ect.

Loads a little slow (at least on my machine) but at least the actual picture  loads and not some "I'm holding your pictures hostage until you pay up" threat!!!

Well get ready when you renew, because they quoted me $399.00 per year for 3rd Party Hosting. Which is all I use the site for.  No thank you!! I will move on. If they were somewhat reasonable I would consider paying put their price is outrageous.
