Elevate the bike. Loosen the rt side lower fork pinch bolts. Loosen the axle bolt. Loosen the lft pinch bolts. Verify the axle is inserted all the way. The end of it should be flush with the fork housing. Tighten lft pinch bolts. Lower forks and bounce up/down a few times. Torque the axle bolt and retighten RT pinch bolts.

Thanks sandy. But my bike jack uses the frame to raise the bike, and the valk has the motor hanging down below the frame. Jack on motor??? By the way, this is a trike.

It's correct to raise using the frame. The point is to get weight off the front end while checking the axle insertion.

For a trike I'd start off with everything loose; bike elevated. Snug the left-side pinch bolts then snug (not tighten) the axle bolt. Then tighten the left side pinch bolts to their specified torque (per the shop manual). Next, tighten the axle bolt to the specified torque and put the trike back on all three wheels. Take a large plastic coated dead-blow hammer and tap the right-side fork lower around the axle area (front and back) several times to position it then pump the front end a couple times while holding the front brake. Lastly, tighten the right side pinch bolts to their specified torque.
