Need help with fuel problem

Hi guys, had a prob with the old girl (98 std). No spark. Turned out the coils were bad so I replaced them. Hit the road and 1/4 mile down the road started backfiring and I heard a click every couple of seconds. Then she stopped and I pushed her home. I was thinking I was missing on a cylinder hence the click. Now I see that the hose that runs off the petcock (not the fuel line) the smaller one that goes towards the front of the bike on the right side is not connected so Im thinking I have a vacuum problem. Where does that hose attach? Cant figure it out from my clymer manual. Thx--Bob

That's your vacuum line to operate the petcock, goes to the backside of #6.....last cyl. on the left side.

Small line on right is a vacuum line. If the bike is not de-smogged , its time to think about it. If you post a location , help is near. One vacuum line off usually will not kill the bike unless it is the fuel petcock line. It usually hooks to #6 , left rear. If original, the vacuum lines are usually junk.

Lesson you gotz a manual fuel petcock what John from Flooreeda said. And our gals came stock with Gravity feed fuel system. Inline fuel filters and longer fuel hoses NOT recommended. RIDE SAFE.
