U sure?  Ain't no going back, and you'll have a heck of a time selling them if you don't like what you hear.

If you're planning to ride any real distance in a full face helmet I'd advise against it.

I also would advise serious thought before cutting the guts out of a OEM set of pipes, there are other options out there.

But, I purchased a Valk that had been violated in the Ragnar style and was able to repair it very well.

I stuck 3   1"x12" perforated pipes into the Ragnar drill holes, clamped them in, put the truck stacks on that the PO had and added a 4" reducer in the ends of the stacks.

She sounds great.

Rear baffles already drilled. Piggies already cut. Thanks for the advice but I want to see the procedure for myself before I decide.  Stock is way too silent for me.  Even as it is I feel it's on the quiet side but might just stay this way to avoid the drone. From what I've read it's two camps anyway, like most everything seems to be nowadays. I wish I could hear one for myself - I can deal with a Harley and loud pipes just fine but that's not exactly a drone.

Like your talking, it's not the loudness of the Ragnar, it's the drone.

While at idle and while running through the gears, they sound great.

But get on a long stretch of road and the drone will get to you.

At least it did to me.

Ragnar...is a name I haven't heard around here in a while.

Met him and his wife at the old Crossroads Accessories store (19 and 108) in PA during one of their Appreciation Days events. Next time I saw them was 2002 Inzane - and as I recall he'd ditched his Valkyrie and gotten a Road Glide.

I agree with the comments about drone. There are a number of aftermarket exhausts which I wouldn't want on either of mine for that very reason.

If wanting a loud/quiet solution, MarkT's approach is arguably the best out there.

Try changing the stock tips to a wide open slashcut. The stock tips are a bit to "tinny" sounding to point of annoying with the piggies cut at 60 mph. This was how mine was when I took ownership.

Try drilling the inner baffles first.  I have both baffles drilled and 4" 18 stacks added.  Loud but not to bad at highway speeds.  If that's not loud enough then go all the way.
