Hey folks -

Posted this on the 1500 Tech Board but meant to put it here.

Haven't been out here for a long time but I'm seeking knowledge and knew this would be the best place to check.

I haven't had good luck with finding anyone that cares about Saphira the way I do - I know it's not easy.

I've got a few issues I need to have addressed and just don't have the time to do it myself.

Fork rebuild, carb cleaning and syncing, for example.

I'm in Billerica but have no problem trailering her to the "right shop".

Any suggestions, besides a dealer?

Thanks muchly.

Hi Partsiam and welcome to the New England Board. Fortunately with the exception of fork seals, I've been able to do required Valk maintenance myself and haven't had carb problems to date. So I haven't had to use MC service shops.

The shops that have done my fork seals (twice now) are no long in business. I've used the Seal Mate tool (http://sealmate.net/) to quick fix fork seals seepage and have installed Shock Sox (https://www.btosports.com/p/shock-sox-fork-seal-protector-street/option/Black_Conventional?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=gs_allproducts&utm_content=18478794385&utm_term=&matchtype=&adposition=1o2&device=c&adtype=pla&product_id=800049&product_country=US&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7JDNu6Oe1QIVF4ezCh3fjw8lEAQYAiABEgJtM_D_BwE) to minimize the development of fork future seal leaks. So far so good.

I'm in Metro West Boston and not familiar with independent shops up your way. You good do a search of Motorcycle Service shops in you area and check the reviews.

I agree Bill is the Valkyrie whisperer. Look him up on FaceBook to see his itinerary.  He has a traveling shop and can do just about anything Valk related in it.

Bill is certainly a legend in his own time when it comes to Valk or other motorcycle repairs.

In March of this year I had him clean, rebuild and sync the carbs on my 99 IS and I don't remember the bike ever running this well when it was new.  Fuel economy has improved as well.

You will not be sorry having BigBF work on your valk!!!!!!  cooldude
