Looking at the '97-'01 Service Manual (page 9-12), there's a set of holder pins (07VMB-MZ00100, A) mentioned.

These engage holes in the lifter plate.

What is the diameter of those pins, or of the holes in the plate? Alternatively: Are there other Honda holder pins which will work in this application?

Thanks!

Once you unstake the center nut, all you need is an impact wrench to get the nut off.  We just did a clutch and that is how we removed the center nut.

No impact wrench @ present. Clutches in both bikes are working fine @ present as well. I just got ahold of a holder plate and am curious about the pins for future use, but not so curious as to spend $214 for a set of 4 new ones...!  Shocked

Since you where talking about the stacked nut on the clutch basket, I'm not sure of the rest, I removed my basket for sale by driving a wedge/awol into the slot and pressing out the stacked section.

Then the right size socket/wrench, and a hammer. Hit the handle in the correct direction, and the nut came off. Motor was out at the time, made it easier.
