LOL...You guys, we are way too spoiled... Grin

I always loved the looks of the Yamaha Warrior...and always wanted to buy one...However, when they were making them, I couldn't afford a new one.

Now that they have ceased production on them their common in the used market...in mint condition, low miles with aftermarket crap for under 5K.

Rode a beautiful blue flamed one today with aftermarket exhaust and power commander.

I have read and heard these were fast, powerful motorcycles... 2funny :2funny:bwwwwaaaaaaaa Grin 2funny  Total dog compared to my Valkyrie, not even in the same universe man...  We are so spoiled with these bikes...  Nothing compares man, not even close..

Now yes, I have not ridden allot of high end rockets, or even sport touring bikes...but man the Valkyrie with it's supple, yet firm suspension, killer brakes and that ENGINE..the quality of the power delivery is unparalleled....

The Warrior felt like a clumsy toy compared to my Valkyrie. Cool

You need to try 65 miles through the countryside on one of these things...

Our Hondas are really good bikes... calm, sedate bikes...

The Ducati Diavel is way much faster (160 HP  Evil)

even though I prefer the older one because the riding position is much more accurate

Many bikes are faster, many handle better, none with better longevity, none with more reliability than a Honda Goldwing.

Yeah, of course there are plenty of bikes faster, and there will always be a faster bike...I don't care what it is...  Speed is only one caveat...  it's the entire package man..

No other bike has a flat six cylinder engine...and because of this no other bike has the same character...

The bike is so unique in that fashion...the gearing to man...perfect...  The way it sounds...and a few tweaks here and there it is PLENTY powerful.  The torque it gets throughout the entire rpm range is unique...and then since it's slightly over squared...picks up HP at the top end too. Love how it really starts cranking at 92mph....  How many bikes have so much torque from the beginning to the end without having to crank the piss out of it?

That is my point.

Probably a lot, particularly this one:

More torque, everywhere. More HP, everywhere. And it's V4 motor drips
with character.

I like our Valkyries more than I can say, but it is like BBQ... people who have (or
only eat) their "favorite" BBQ are missing out on a lot of good BBQ...

'Probably allot' is arbitrary...nonsense...  Question, do you own the 1800 or 1500?

I'm betting that Motus is one bad motorscooter.  But let's not leave out that you could buy a new Valk AND a nearly  new BMW K1600GTL for the price of one Motus.  It damn well better be the best thing on two wheels.

 Grin
I discover the name given to this Motus : MST !! This is the acronym in french for STD  crazy2
So the Motus MSTR means : STD rapidly !  2funny

BTW : when I tried the Ducati 1200 Multistrada in 2015, the Ducati dealer had a second hand Superleggera to sell (60,000 €). He explained that the owner had bought two of these, one for the road and this one in his living-room  Evil

When you buy any bike you usually buy it with a purpose in mind. Some you buy to go fast some, to handle well and go fast, some to cruise and some cause they look cool. Some even because of price and some because of longevity, some because of the MFG or even comfort while doing what you want to on the bike.

There are many bikes out there and no one pics one bike for one reason. While I am hours on the seat of my bike doing a fairly lengthy tour and hit the throttle and it moves off smartly, then stop and open the saddle bag and get a drink or stop at a restaurant and look around. When I have the confidence that I can go anywhere any time and know that I can get through because of the comfort and reliability of my Valk and if something is to happens I can find parts for my bike without having to wait weeks or even fix it myself. That the heat goes around me rather than toast me like a toaster then things are good. When you wrap up price, comfort, reliability, speed and looks to me there is really only one bike that excels and that is our Valks. I often think about the heritage of our bikes and the millions of miles that wing drivers have put on this engine and drive line and understand why its the premier tourer that many try to beat.

I look at other bikes and think wow that is awesome and even ride some and the first thing I say is I'm so glad I have my Valk. It purrs down the road soaking up miles and waiting for adventures like no other bike. I have confidence because it does what its supposed to without a hitch, so I agree about Ducati and other bikes but when its all said and done give me my Valk, it fills more of the check boxes for priorities than all the others.

Great post Robert, this was my point. The bike is so unique and does so many things so well, and I am sorry, as bad ass as a 'Motus' is..(never knew they existed), I'm sure it is not as smooth...a V4 inherently just cannot be....great power perhaps yes, but simple physics...take any displacement and divide it into smaller and smaller increments...and the *feel* of combustion will evolve into a single sustaining note instead steady staccato 1/4 notes...

The Valkyrie stands alone period. cooldude

I've been watching Motus' development since their original announcement.  As much as they attract me, the problems are:

- $30K sticker (largest problem of all!!  laugh )
- unknown quantity & reliability
- spotty dealer network
- unknown parts availability
- non-bespoke luggage (Givi is nice, but for that price I expect something much better fitted to the frame of the bike)

I've wanted a Guzzi for 30 years, but every time I go look at one, hopefully to buy...something else grabs my wallet, because Guzzis have some of the same negatives as above for me.  Maybe as a second bike  cooldude

Back in 2006, I took an '06 Yamaha Warrior for a 'test ride' that lasted for 2 years, until the end of '08.

At the end of '08 I came across some property out in the country that I wanted so I sold my bikes (all except my '03 Yamaha Vmax) for down payment money.

I still miss that bike. It was a blast to ride.

At any given time during the last 15 years, the best bike in the world, has always been and will always be the one under my butt.

I have enjoyed riding a one cylinder, a two cylinder, a three cylinder, a four cylinder, and a six cylinder. I have enjoyed the personality of each for it's own reasons and not for how it compares to any other make/model.

Of those bikes though, there is only one VMAX  Wink .

I'm glad I have my Valkyries, but after riding a Motus for 65 miles through the
countryside I'm not glad I don't have a Motus...

It better to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow.

I can rip around residential street curves doing 30-40 mph and still stay in my lane on my DR200SE. I could never do that on the Valkyrie.

Saw a thread with some very cool non-Valks. You are absolutely correct, you buy a bike with a purpose...this one is for sporty twisties on the weekend 2-up with my wife. For our purpose it does everything better than the Valkyrie, but will never sell my bobber Valk.
