2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« on: October 21, 2009, 05:31:25 PM »

I had a little ride planned with my buddie "6-shooter", he couldn't make it. Called "Siverfox" , tried to coax him into a ride, almost. He had to finish some re-modeling at his home. Looks like I'm riding solo. I road the Florida Intra-Coastal, spanning three Counties, then ducked into the woods to find some Florida twisties and home. Took 7 hours with all the photo stops ( and grub ) several hundred miles today. Good Day, high of 82 degrees, no humidity cooldude

Up to Indian Rocks Beach and Indian Shores

Stopped for dinner at Crabby Bills, sorry no food pics. Couldn't be that cruel.

Then up the road to the Brish Pub, this place is a favorite stop on this route. GREAT Sandwiches cooldude

Continuing North through the city of Bellaire, found this really cool gate to a private residence. I did buzz the gate and ask permission for the photo.

Then on North to Sand-Key Bridge, this is rather new. The old draw bridge with the toll was removed and this large reptile was installed. Fantastic view. The best sunsets in the State are from here, maybe I'll make it back here tonight?

Not too smart parking on the bridge uglystupid2, but the photo's I couldn't pass on.

This bridge connects the mainland to the Clearwater beach, this is new also.

The turtle is a new addition to the Clearwater Beach public showers.

Rest stop in a County Park

Then East towards the woods to find some Florida Twisties and homeward with one more rest stop, actually took a litlle nap at this one. (getting older ???) Was going to make Pinellas County Bike night tonight, just too tired.

St. Augustine is stunning, If you haven't been there and enjoy scenery and history, I would say it's a must. The weather should be beautiful that time of year. Maybe a little cooler than by me and definately more of a breeze of the Atlantic  cooldude

Your winter residence...Send me a key, I'll look in on it for you free of charge Wink I searched high and low trying to find access to that home (from the other side of course) Must have some secret private access like Batman.

I have been there several times (St. Augustine) I usually stay on the beach there for bike week, nothing like A1A to Daytona....

I know a couple of days on the beach there would be welcomed...and maybe a ride down to the cape to show the kids the rockets and stuff I worked on years ago....

As for the winter home...decided to keep the Valk instead....ha ha ha

Great pics Doug!
You are doing my home town good with all the beautiful spots you shoot your pics at. That's right near where I grew up.  cooldude

BigRig, I agree with Doug about St. Aug. The weather should be cooled down enough by Thanksgiving for you "Northerners"  Grin.

St. Augustine from last year. Parked in front of the Old Methodist Church {for free! Wink} just a few blocks from the old city. Went Valkless that day!

Come on up!
There's lots of nice riding roads in the ONF.
