Exact Fuel Line Length

What is the exact length that the fuel line should be?
Mine looks extremely long, as if someone had changed it in the past for easier connection. There is also an extra shut off valve in the line so someone at some point has done something with it.

I remember just enough to move the tank slightly for installation.A little extra line won't hurt you.The shutoff would prevent any fuel leakage during service or as a theft deterrent.
