Nice write up, we "Heretics" : a person who violates established rules and tenants of a religion or is a person who has views that don't conform to the norm.
So be it.

This car tire thing on motorcycles sure isn't new. We were using c/t's 50-60 yrs. ago because they were cheaper and any junk yard had a size you could use. When you're in your teens, getting a tire for never more than $.50-$1 at the local junk yard was better than paying for a bike specific tire, and for a lot more money....something we teenager's didn't have a lot of. The inner tubes usually didn't have to be changed but you still carried a patch kit with you most of the time. I just used something called friction tape(forerunner of electrician tape) and taped it to the back side of the license plate. I got pretty good at popping a link out of a stretched chain and be back on the road in under 30 minutes. After popping out 2-3 links over a short period of time, you need to start thinking about a new chain 'cuz the old one isn't long for this world. Ain't history fun?   Wink

Wow!  I guess I didn't realize they were using car tires on motorcycles that far back!  But, it makes sense.
