Page3man and TC(Tom Carlson) showed up around 9:00 this morning. I was having a second cup of joe and chatting with Rita when I heard the rumble. Rita asked "what's that I'm hearing?" Told her that's a couple Valkyries, she wanted to know how I could tell from inside the house. Said "I just know that sound" and headed for the garage. There was Dave(correct name?) and my old friend TC whom I hadn't seen in a few years. Tom and I had a good chat reminiscing over rides of the past, one was the passing of Thor's hammer along with the banner on to Fred and DD. We got over there rather late after spending a couple hours at Gatorland, our meeting place and they gave us the cook's tour of the place. Even let us into one gator pen whereupon one of the riders from south Fla. sat on a gator's back and held his mouth shut. Needless to say, he was holding on tight and forcing a grin. Later one of the gals handed TC a small gator which he placed on his bike seat, at which point the gator peed on it producing what we dubbed as the original Gator Ade. I digress....the ride over to New Smyrna was colder than a witch's....it was cold!!! It was late by the time we left Fred/DD's and TC had access to a clients beach condo so we sacked out there and headed home the next day. Thinking back on those times brought some good laughs from all 3 of us.

When I saw the bikes it became obvious why I could hear them.....both were running Cobras. We had a great visit, I had a chance to show them some of the stuff I'd done to both the Valk and the 1200. But, with the skies darkening and time slipping away, they took their leave before the liquid sunshine hit. It was a good break for me to have a couple visitors drop in, so you all keep in mind the door to the  Schmidt House is always open....no matter how you read this sentence.  Wink

PS: Page3man....you're too easily impressed, but thanks.  Grin

Hey, John.  TC and I had a great time visiting with you on Saturday.  I really like the different things that you did to make the bikes unique and different.  That's what makes them special.  I hope you get a windshield that will work for the 1200.  Oh and keep that garage door control handy.  Lol.

I have a funny story to tell you re. the garage door opener I have on the Valkyrie. It's rather long so will wait until another visit, but the other person involved sure was red-faced over it. Was all in good fun.

Pappy, Rita won't let me put "The Schmidt House" on our mailbox. Wanted to do that along with a painting of an old outhouse but she put her foot down on that idea. I thought it rather amusing.....she didn't.  She won!  Grin

John, in town near me there was an older fellow who lived on Church Street. It has some of the oldest houses in town along with I think five churches in about a four blocks. They have "Church Street Christmas "each year . Candle bags along the sidewalks, caroling nightly for at least a week. Concerts in the different churches . Folks put on quite a display in their yards . Lights, figures and large Christmas cards.
The older fellow was quite a character . His old two story home was not  picture perfect for the  neighborhood. It was suggested he participate in the festivities. He was sort of BaHumbug about it . But he decides to have a little fun with the neighbors. Picture his slightly run down home directly across the street from one church and caty corner to another. He builds a semblance of an outhouse in his yard next to the sidewalk where the Christmas stroll takes place. Along with the outhouse is a "Christmas card " with Santa and the reindeer . The card says, Dammit Rudolf, I said der Schmidt house. I think the neighbors would have been happier had they not encouraged him to get in the Christmas spirit. LOL, I miss my friend in the white beard since his passing.
