We rolled out of our driveway about 4:00 PM yesterday, dropped the pain-in-the-ass cat in Sumterville, and headed North about 5:30 PM. Slow traffic through Coleman into Belleview, and a little better through Ocala. Once we hit the 301/441 split and all the traffic went up 301, we had clear sailing. Din't see a single car on 441 going North for about 10 minutes, and it remained that way on every road all the way to McDonough, GA. Stopped to nap a couple of times, and arrived at my son's about 0800 this morning. A lot of Gas stations were out, and most of those that had gas had long lines to go with it. We were lucky enough to find a couple with plenty of gas and no lines, and the guage never dropped below 1/2. We have already informed the Terminal Manager that we will not be returning to Florida until the Power comes back on. We sincerely hope that all those that chose to stay, did so safely.

Glad you made it there safe and were able to get gas. Around Spring Hill every gas station I went by yesterday had plastic wrap around all of the pumps. All my vehicles are full, went out today and nothing is open so if you don't have it your not getting it. Hopefully the power won't be out for to many days, we use to go camping a lot and never had power but always had lots of food and ice and water as we do now. During the hurricane it is legal to carry a gun without a concealed weapons permit so protect yourself and family from looters or anyone who my threaten you. (Bang Bang)
Everyone stay in touch with updates from your area.

We are in Greenville,SC made it ok, had to search some for gas also. Looked like a mass exodus from Florida . 90% of the cars on the road were from Fl. Saw hundreds of Ambulances and power company trucks going south.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you’re in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

Enjoying mild weather with Mike and Liz in Sixlow land. Actually the first time in a long time a real non working weekend for me. With the 2p update showing the winds down to 120 and the story of a weakening storm is better news so far.

Got a text from my son, looks like the place survived intact, power is out, lines down. His place in Oldsmar came through OK. We will be heading home in the am tomorrow. Looks like we were lucky'

That is indeed good news, Bill. I just spoke with my Mom, who lives in our neighborhood. Her and her Gentleman friend stayed, and they have Power, but no Cable. If power is still on and the storm has passed here by tomorrow AM, we may head home. Be safe, in any case.
